*John Legend is backtracking on his criticism of Kanye West over meeting with President-elect Donald Trump, saying, “I think Kanye was a publicity stunt,” when he appeared on France’s Clique TV on Wednesday.
“I’m pretty disappointed with Kanye that he says he would have voted for Trump,” Legend followed up. “I think Trump has been corrosive — his message has been corrosive to the country. And I think the things he’s promised to do have been very concerning for a lot of people and for Kanye to support that message has been very disappointing.”
West claims to have met with Trump to discuss “multicultural issues” and the ongoing gun violence in his hometown of Chicago. “I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future president if we truly want change,” West tweeted after the meeting.
TMZ caught up with the Legend on Monday at LAX where a photog asks if he’d take a similar meeting with Trump. Check out his reply in the clip above, Legend now seems to be on the fence.

Meanwhile, Kanye and Kim Kardashian made their first public outing together in several months. No doubt they called Harvey Levin and the team of paps he has dedicated to keeping up with the Kardashian’s, and alerted them of their dinner plans Sunday night at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica. They definitely wanted to be seen, since they know the restaurant is a hot spot with paparazzi.
TMZ noted how they haven’t seen the couple go out together since before the armed robbery in Paris, back in October. The site also wants you to take notice of how little make-up Kimmy is wearing, and how you should be impressed that she left her gaudy jewels at home.
There have been rumors about their marriage being on the rocks — which sources (AKA Kris Jenner and Kim) say is BS.
