*Earlier we reported on the shooting death of former NFL player Joe McKnight in Louisiana.

Now we’ve learned that the man who shot him, Ronald Gasser, in a supposed fit of road rage, has been released from custody and no charges have been filed in the case.

Gasser, 54-year-old white male, was questioned by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’d Dept. and released “sometime overnight” after officials believed they had no reason to hold him any longer.

The Sheriff’s Dept. told TMZ that Gasser “definitely” shot the ex-NFL running back — but there are “questions about the circumstances surrounding what led up to it.”

The rep says the investigation is ongoing and the case would go to the grand jury or the DA’s office.

Meanwhile, 50 Cent is going on the record saying that – like a lot of observer – he noticed that Kanye West was dropping hints he was in a bad place before his emotional and mental meltdown.

50 cstood up for ‘Kanye on “Watch What Happens Live” Thursday night as Andy Cohen fired off questions about Kanye’s condition, the Paris robbery and Kanye’s insurance claim for cancelled tour dates.

As you know, Fifty is known for not cutting other celebs any slack when they’re dealing with a problem, but we suppose he was feeling magnanimous toward Kanye ’cause he did speak kindly.
