*A baby is on the way for Mahershala Ali and his wife, Amatus Sami-Karim.
The star of “Moonlight” and “Luke Cage” shared Thursday evening that he and his wife are going to be parents for the first time via a black-and-white photo of the two.

Ali and Sami-Karim married in 2013, following a friendship of 20 years.
“I know she’s a serious person,” the actor said of his betrothed on the podcast Death, Sex and Money in March. “She’s extraordinarily intelligent, she’s about the right things, spiritually grounded, a beautiful person.”

Currently surrounded by Oscar buzz for his role in “Moonlight,” Ali took part in Variety and PBS’s “Actors on Actors” series alongside actress Greta Gerwig. The interview will air in its entirety during the show’s 5th season beginning on Jan. 3.
In a clip, Ali said although playing a wide array of character roles allowed him to realize his strengths and weaknesses, he doesn’t want to be a one-trick pony.
