*An employee at an Alabama Victoria’s Secret store was given her walking papers after she was filmed telling two black women to leave the store for no reason.

In a Facebook Live video, Kimberly Houzah filmed herself inside of a Victoria’s Secret in Oxford, Alabama, on Wednesday as she and another black woman (whom Houzah did not know) were being ordered out of the store by two white employees.

Houzah explained that an unrelated (third) black woman had been caught shoplifting earlier — and because that woman was black, the store employees profiled Houzah and the other black woman in the store with her as potential thieves as well.

“[The employee] didn’t check my bag, she didn’t accuse me of stealing, but because another black person happened to get caught stealing, me and the other black female here gotta be affiliated.” Houzah said in the ten-minute-long video.

Houzah’s account has been viewed nearly 1 million times and prompted a response from the lingerie brand, which said the employee who asked the women to leave has now been fired.

“Victoria’s Secret is adamant that all customers regardless of race be treated with dignity and respect at all times,” the company said in a statement posted to Facebook Wednesday night.

Houzah returned to the store on Thursday (Dec 8), this time with a number of protesters.

The manager who kicked her out before was not there, but the manager on duty offered an apology.

“It was just to let people know, you know, this does happen here,” Houzah told local news station WIAT, “and I mean, we’re a very small town and you wouldn’t think these kinds of things would happen here.”
