“Collateral Beauty” is one of those movies you don’t walk to but run to. It’s a superb, powerful film with substance and exceptional performances. It’s been called “It’s a Wonderful Life” of our time but it’s that and more. Successful banker George Bailey (James Stewart) is visited by an angel when he is about to jump of a bridge Christmas day in “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

Howard (Will Smith), a flourishing executive who is called the guru of Madison Avenue, finds life meaningless when his daughter dies. Just before Christmas Howard is visited by Death, Time and Love. Howard is no Scrooge who is visited by the three spirits in “A Christmas Carol,” but Death, Time, and Love has the same sobering effect.

The biggest treat to the audience comes in the end with a satisfying twist. Directed by David Frankel, the film also stars Edward Norton, Helen Mirren, Naomie Harris, Kate Winslet, Keira Knightley, Jacob Latimore, and Michael Pena. ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Forest Whitaker (Saw Gerrera) is no stranger to accolades for his fine acting and diecting but he joins a motley crew of space cadets in his first action packed blockbuster. In “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” directed by Gareth Edwards, an unlikely crew come together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction.

“Rogue One” has all the bells and whistles of previous “Star Wars,” although it stands alone in its mission led by Rebel Alliance Capt. Cassian Andor (Diego Luna). He recruits Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), who becomes a major player in the outcome that sets the stage for “Star Wars” first film. Alan Tudyk, Donnie Yen, and Wen Jiang also star.
