*Mahershala Ali is closing out his banner award season with the greatest gift of all.
The “Moonlight” actor and his wife, Amatus Sami-Karim, on Wednesaday (Feb. 22) welcomed their first child together, a boy named Bari (Bar-ee) Najma Ali, the actor revealed on Instagram.
Regarding the little one’s name, Ali told Jimmy Kimmel last month: “My wife’s name is Amatus Sami…but we’re going to do something a little bit simpler for our child.” Ali promised Kimmel they would “keep it unique.”
Ali announced the pregnancy in December, one month before he took home a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role.
His next appearance onscreen is in “Roxanne Roxanne” and “Alita: Battle Angel.”
