*“Moonlight” actor Ashton Sanders is reportedly in talks to join Denzel Washington on screen for the legal thriller, “Inner City.”

The film centers on “a lawyer (Washington) who discovers that his firm has always acted in accordance with his personal values,” The Tracking Board reports. This leads to an “existential crisis that forces him to take action.”

“Inner City” will be directed by Dan Gilroy (Nightcrawler), and Sanders will take on the role of an impressionable law school grad who helps Washington with pro bono cases.

In the Oscar-winning “Moonlight” Sanders, actor Alex Hibbert and actor Trevante Rhodes play the same character at various ages in Barry Jenkins’ film about a kid growing up black, gay and confused with his drug addicted mother in Miami.

“Everything that I had gone through booking this role and filming it, [I realized that] what we kind of do as people is put things into the back of our minds and don’t revisit them,” Sanders told JET in an October 2016 interview. “I had to revisit all these things and they were very uncomfortable. It was one of the most vulnerable roles that I ever had to be in, but it was also very therapeutic.”

“Moonlight” is the first movie with an all-black cast to win the best picture Academy Award. The art house movie cost $1.5 million to make and has now crossed the $25 million mark. Following the Oscars, the pic got a boost at the box office, according to THR.
