*Former President Barack Obama is reportedly on a South Pacific island right now writing his White House memoir.
The Washington Post reports that POTUS 44 is chillin’ on Tetiaroa, an atoll located in a group of French Polynesian islands. Its closest neighbor is Tahiti, which is roughly 30 miles away.
The island once belonged to actor Marlon Brando, who purchased the property while scouting locations for his 1962 movie, “Mutiny on the Bounty.” A decade after Brando’s death in 2004, the property was acquired by hotel company Pacific Beachcomber and converted into an ultra-luxurious resort called The Brando.
Obama is reportedly staying at the 35-villa resort for his month-long stay. Rooms start $2,800 per night and some run as high as $13,300 per night…mere chump change, considering Barack and Michelle Obama just inked a book deal worth a reported $60 million.
