*While addressing the Professional Business Women of California conference in San Francisco on Tuesday, Hillary Clinton took a moment to defend both White House reporter April Ryan and Democratic House rep. Maxine Waters. Both African American women made headlines on Tuesday after being criticized by white men.

“Any woman who thinks this couldn’t be directed at her is living in a dream world,” Clinton said on Tuesday.

On Tuesday morning, Fox News host Bill O’Reilly was on “Fox & Friends” when he said that he “didn’t hear a word” of Rep. Waters’ speech against Donald Trump and the president’s staunchest supporters because of her “James Brown wig.”

Like scores of folks on Twitter, Clinton accused O’Reilly of racism.

“One of your own California Congresswomen, Maxine Waters, was taunted with a racist joke about her hair,” Clinton said. “Too many women, especially women of color, have had a lifetime of practice taking precisely these kinds of indignities in stride.”

Several hours later, American Urban Radio Networks reporter April Ryan was told during Tuesday’s White House briefing to “stop shaking your head” by White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer. Clinton, the former Democratic nominee for president, slammed Spicer’s actions as patronizing.

“Just look at all that’s happened in the last few days to women who were simply doing their jobs,” Clinton said. “April Ryan, an immensely respected journalist with unrivaled integrity, was doing her job just this afternoon, and she was patronized and cut off as she tried to ask a question.”
