“Yo @Eminem let’s find these #missingdcgirls !!,” LL wrote, before hitting up Russell Simmons and P. Diddy, writing, “We gotta get America focused on finding these #missingdcgirls !!!! Let’s go!!!!”

LL is the latest celebrity to lend their voice to call attention to the dozen of missing girls between the ages 14-18 who’ve gone missing over the past week.

D.L. Hughley even made a fuss when he took to Twitter after the FBI tracked down Tom Brady’s jersey, by suggesting that if those missing were wearing jerseys the agency would rush to find and bring them to safety.

Where is the lie in Hughley’s statement?

Meanwhile, Washington D.C. officials are saying that the girls who have gone missing are not crime victims … they’re simply runways.

Members of the Congressional Black Caucus are calling for a federal investigation into the missing black and Latino young women in the area. TMZ reports that there are currently 38 open cases of missing persons in D.C., and 12 disappeared in the last 5 months. Nine of the girls are 18 or under. Ten are black and 2 Hispanic.

A police spokesperson says they believe all are runaways based on the circumstances of their disappearance. Police Chief Peter Newsham tells TMZ that those missing have a history of leaving home. He says the number of missing aligns with stats from previous years, and only seems alarming because of the heightened attention on social media to help locate the missing girls.
