*Universal Music Publishing has shut down Remy Ma’s diss track, “shETHER,” directed at Nicki Minaj.
The track, which samples Nas’ “Ether” (a diss track aimed at Jay Z, released in 2001), has virtually disappeared. There were reports that Nas himself had it taken down. But he wants you to know that that’s not the case.
Nas is reportedly pointing the finger at Universal Music Publishing for yanking “shETHER” immediately after it hit No. 2 on iTunes. Sources connected to the rapper tell TMZ … Nas has no beef with Remy using his beat to diss Nicki Minaj, but Universal owns the song and they are not here for Remy jacking the beat and selling it without permission. Remy can’t even perform the track, and sources say “shETHER” might not see the light of day again cause Remy Ma didn’t play on Universal’s terms.

Meanwhile, Minaj responded to “shETHER” with “No Frauds,” a new track featuring herself, Drake and Lil Wayne. The Young Money reunion has received mixed reviews from fans — and many have called out Nicki for not coming at Remy hard enough.
On Twitter, one user wrote, “Nicki Minaj might as well lean all the way into that pop sh*t cuz whatever rap respect she was looking for just died.”
Another Twitter user was overjoyed by Nicki’s diss response, writing, “How does @NICKIMINAJ have the power to slay me as hard as she did with no frauds? i was shrieking in the shower after every jab!!!!!”
As EUR previously reported, Minaj put Remy on further notice in an Instagram post where she offered the Bronx rapper half a million dollars if she could drop a hit within 72 hours and book a show and interview without referencing Nicki’s name.
“Diss records can’t be lies. Great diss records are FACTS,” read a screenshot Minaj posted on Instagram. “But here @ Young Money, we don’t do diss records, we drop HIT RECORDS & diss u ON them.” She also noted that she had more tracks in the stash: “I got a bunch more on cock. Pauz. The greats took 3 months to respond to diss records. Queens don’t move on peasant time.”
