*CNN has given a contributor gig to April Ryan, the veteran White House correspondent who has become must-see TV during press secretary Sean Spicer’s daily briefings.
Ryan, who covers the White House for American Urban Radio Networks, will serve as a political analyst for the cable channel. The journalist has covered the goings-on at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. since the administration of Bill Clinton.
Her exchanges with President Trump’s mouthpiece Spicer have made national news, including a back-and-forth last week during which Spicer told Ryan to stop “shaking her head” while he was answering her question.
Many people, including Hillary Clinton came to Ryan’s defense, labeling Spicer’s treatment of Ryan as racist, sexist and condescending.
Ryan was also named today to Adweek’s Political Power Players list.
