Drake Says He Was Racially Profiled by Country Club Near Coachella

*As far as his ultra-plush digs in Coachella are concerned, it might as well have been a downgrade for the internationally known rapper/entertainer.

In an Instagram post on Sunday, Drake says The Madison Club otherwise known as a private residential community in La Quinta, California – racially profiled him, a day after he made a surprise performance at the Coachella music festival.

“The most offensive place I have ever stayed at in my life with staff who pick and choose who they are going to accommodate based on racial profiling,” Drake captioned a now-deleted Instagram image of The Madison Club’s logo.

A spokesperson for the club could not immediately be reached for comment. The swanky home district, which features its own country club, is just a few miles away from the Coachella festival grounds, which are located in Indio, Calif.

He did not disclose any specific incidents during his stay at The Madison Club, but that didn’t stop fans from supporting the artist by flooding the venue’s Yelp page with poor reviews.

“The staff here showed fake love straight up to my face,” wrote one user, quoting multiple Drake lyrics. “They gotta know I’m more than just an option. Just hold on, I’m going home.”

Another wrote, “Y’all upset Drake and his crew. You don’t mess with Drizzy and not get dragged…”

Nearly 5,000 people so far have commented on Drake’s post — including the club itself which said:

“We are trying to get this issue fixed as soon as possible. Customer satisfaction is our number one priority and for you to experience such a thing is embarrassing for us.”

The club’s post also said:

“We are very sorry for the inconvenience and we will be issuing out a formal apology to you and the public. We will also be investigating this as we do not tolerate racial discrimination.”

By the way, Drake wasn’t scheduled to perform on the Coachella lineup but made an unexpected appearance during Future’s set on Saturday, performing hits “Fake Love,” “Jumpman” and “Gyalchester.”
