EURweb Gets Up Close with ‘Going in Style’ Cast; Hilarity Ensues (Exclusive – Watch!)

*In today’s entertainment market place, films for baby boomers are far in between.

But that situation is being taken care of with the release of Warner Bros. comedy “Going in Style” starring Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Alan Arkin. The film is also aptly aided by the still beautiful Ann-Margaret.

In the video players above and below, Freeman, Caine, Arkin, Ann-Margaret and the film’s director, Zach Braff talk exclusively to EURweb’s Lee Bailey about the production and other hilarious stuff. But for background on the “Going in Style,” check out the info below:

THE SET UP

Going-in-Style (coffee)
There’s only so much a guy can take, before he has to do something about it. Sometimes in a way no one ever sees coming. Take Willie, Joe, and Al, played by three of the world’s most accomplished and revered actors: Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Alan Arkin. These big-hearted, upstanding Brooklynites – with a friendship forged on the assembly line at Semtech Steel – never saw themselves as the kind of men who would dare to rob a bank.

Of course, they never thought their bank would rob them.

Now they’re mad as hell. Screwed over by the pension and mortgage systems and convinced they have nothing left to lose, these late-blooming, would-be criminal masterminds throw in together for a one-time plunge into a risky, unfamiliar—and oddly invigorating—world of split-second timing, disguises and getaway cars. Syncing their alibis, they prep to pull the perfect heist and take back what’s theirs if it’s the last thing they do. No more, no less.

They’re pushing their luck. They’re pushing the limit. They’re also pushing 80…but that doesn’t matter, because standing up for yourself never gets old.

A fun and fast-paced comedy with both heart and bite, “Going in Style” showcases the remarkable star power of film legends Freeman, Caine, and Arkin, together on screen for the first time, along with a stellar supporting cast led by the one-and-only Ann-Margret and Christopher Lloyd.

THE WOMAN
In the midst of all this action and adding to the hilarity of “Going in Style,” a beautiful and unexpected romance is beginning to blossom between Albert and Annie, a grocery cashier played by Ann-Margret. No one is more surprised than he is to discover this is happening. Albert is not exactly in the market for love, having long ago decided that part of his life was over.

A blithe spirit, Annie senses the artistic, tender side Albert keeps under wraps, and finally gets an opportunity to show him how wrong he’s been. “Annie has a big crush on Al. She remembers when he used to play the saxophone,” Ann-Margret relates. “Now he and his buddies come into the store almost every day and get maybe one potato, or a can of soup, and eventually one thing leads to another… He doesn’t even know how they got there.”

Braff says, “Annie had to be beautiful and charming and flirtatious, and Ann-Margret is all those things. She’s a knockout, and very funny, and the bonus was that she and Alan have already worked together and are friends, so they instantly fell into a wonderful rapport. Their chemistry really comes through on screen.”

For anyone but Al, falling in love would be a transformative experience. But, true to his character, Arkin confirms, “Al doesn’t change. That’s one of the funny things about it, that he really doesn’t transform. There’s an arc to every relationship but all that happens to Al, I think, is that maybe he gets a little more compliant.”

“Well, he’s still grumpy,” Ann-Margret counters.

“You think he’s grumpy?,” Arkin asks, before admitting, “Suddenly he’s in a relationship he didn’t want, and he has no idea how or why. But it seems to be working somehow.”
