Gilbert Arenas Suggests Dark Skinned Women Aren’t Beautiful: ‘How Black We Talking??’

*Gilbert Arenas is trying to walk back comments he posted addressing a meme that encourages women with darker complexions and African features to be proud of their beauty.

“How black we talking??,” the former NBA star wrote in the comment section. “Not to be funny can you name a beautiful black woman on the outside … not brown skin … like Tyrese black.”

He added that of the “50 most beautiful women of all time,” the “darkest women they have” are Keshia Knight Pulliam, Gabrielle Union, Taral Hicks and Serena Williams.

He argued, however, that those four are considered “brown-skinned,” not “African features black” like “Lupita Nyong’o,” the Oscar winner of Kenyan descent, whom Arenas referred to as “cute when the lights are off.”

After social media dragged him all the way back to his number “00,” Arenas posted a clarification.

“I read this wrong and got into my feelings. I thought I was saying if you’re mixed you’re not considered black and beautiful and my kids are dark skinned so I perceived it how I wanted to. I was trying to defend all shades of black but that’s what the post was also doing,” he wrote.

“As for Lupita she ain’t cute to me sorry … just like I’m not cute to 95% of you.”
