*Joe Jackson was once an arch-enemy of Michael Jackson’s Estate, but that was then. It seems he he was moved by a documentary produced by the Estate for Showtime called “Michael Jackson’s Journey From Motown to Off the Wall.”

The doc takes a look at the life of the late pop star from his early days at Motown Records to the release of his hit 1979 album, “Off the Wall.” The project acknowledges Joe for moving the family from humble beginnings in Gary, Indiana to Hollywood.

Joe once claimed that MJ’s Estate was robbing members of his family. When it as revealed that Michael’s will cut Joe out completely, as it did MJ’s brothers and sisters, Joe called the document fraudulent and went after the Estate and the executors.

Jackson family sources tell TMZ a number of factors changed Joe’s tune: First, the 88-year-old suffered a stroke in 2015 and the Estate paid his medical bills and other expenses. He also came to believe the Estate was actually taking good care of Katherine, along with Michael’s 3 kids. Previously, Joe tried influencing Katherine to challenge the Estate, but that’s now no longer the case.

“Michael Jackson’s Journey from Motown to Off the Wall” is a 2016 documentary Spike Lee joint. It’s the second Michael Jackson-focused documentary Lee has made, after “Bad 25.” The film premiered on January 24, 2016 at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. The doc aired on Showtime February 5. It was released along with a reissue of the original “Off the Wall” album on February 26.
