*We’ve got more news on WHY authorities came for Mel B’s soon to be ex-husband Stephen Belafonte, but first, it looks like funnyman/actor Martin Lawrence is ready to get married again.
We get word that this past Friday (03-31-17), Martin Lawrence got down on bended knee and popped the question to his girlfriend (and now fiancee) Roberta Moradfar. She said yes, which is why we’re bringing you the news.
If you’re not familiar, Ms. Moradfa is an aesthetics nurse practitioner. She also shared the news on her Instagram along with the gorgeous ring.
There’s no word on whether or not this is Moradfar’s first marriage, but for Mr. Lawrence, it will be his third. Previously he was married to Patricia Southall from 1995-1996, and Shamick Gibbs from 2010 to 2012.
In other news, Mel B‘s ex, Stephen Belafonte (pictured above), apparently caught the attention of the feds after his brother bragged Belafonte was in possession of a gun … a gun he is prohibited from owning, according to TMZ.
It seems the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms got wind of his brother’s comments and went to a judge last week asking for a warrant because Belafonte was reportedly convicted of domestic violence in 2003. He had allegedly gotten into a drunken fight with the mother of his child. As part of the conviction, he was prohibited from possessing firearms.
As we reported, the ATF showed up to Belafonte’s Hollywood Hills home Friday and waited for him to show to serve the warrant. We’re told no gun was found.
And there’s this: Belafonte’s brother told various news outlets about the couple’s explosive past. He claims Stephen once punched Mel B’s dog and having the gun in their home was always a point of contention between them.
