*Now we’re finding out more and more about the messy situation that was the marriage on Melanie “Mel B.” Brown and Stephen Belafonte. We also know what finally drove her over the edge and made her file for divorce, something she should have done years earlier.
In her new, mind blowing court papers filed to petition the court for a restraining order against Belafonte, she outlines that her seemingly picture-perfect marriage to the film producer was really a horror show that included beatings, three-way sex with strange women and Belafonte getting their nanny pregnant.
Here’s what Page Six is reporting:
The 41-year-old superstar mom of three sought a restraining order against Belafonte on Monday, calling her husband of 13 years “extremely aggressive, hostile and violent.’’
The horrific beatings started in the first year of the pair’s marriage and continued throughout, said Mel B, whose real name is Melanie Brown.
Then there was the sadistic sex abuse, which included forcing her into threesomes “with random women’’ he brought back to their hotel room and him impregnating the nanny, the papers said.
The two-bit producer, 41, kept her in the marriage like any other abusive spouse — with threats, Mel B said.
“I have lived the past decade in fear that Respondent would release intimate videos of me that would embarrass me and damage my reputation and career,’’ wrote the singer and TV star.
But Mel B — born Melanie Janine Brown — said the final straw came as her father lay dying in her native England in February.
“I believe Respondent took my passport so as to intentionally delay my travel such that I would not see my father prior to his death,’’ Mel B wrote.
She made it back home just in time to be with her father when he died — but filed for divorce days later.
You probably won’t be surprised to learn that Belafonte has denied Brown’s allegations.
“I’m shocked at those allegations, and that’s what it is,’’ he told TMZ. “It’s accusation after accusation. But we’ll have our day in court.”
But that didn’t stop a judge from granting Mel B’s restraining order.
As for the singer it looks like she wants as few reminders as possible of her past with Belafonte (no relation to Harry Belafonte, by the way).
Meanwhile, Brown put the family’s Hollywood Hills home (pictured immediately above) up for sale on March 22 for $8.995 mil. On Monday (04-03-17), just after a judge ordered Belafonte to leave, the asking price went down to a mil to $7.995 mil, according to TMZ.
In case you’re wondering, the house is 6,000 square feet with 4 bedrooms and 5 1/2 baths.
