*Both Rosa Parks and Dr. David Dao famously refused to give up their seats and were hauled away by force, but comparing the United Airlines passenger to the woman whose Dec. 1, 1955 stand against racial discrimination fueled the burgeoning civil rights movement is unacceptable…according to Parks’ niece.
Urana McCauley tells TMZ that what happened to Dao on the United flight is wrong and unfortunate, but can not be compared to what her pioneering aunt endured in the struggle for racial equality.
The ill-advised comparison came from Dao’s attorney during a press conference on Thursday (April 14). He spoke of a supporter who called Dao the “modern day Asian” version of Parks.
