*D.L. Hughley is lighting up Dallas Cowboy Dez Bryant‘s arse in the wake of his comments blaming blacks for basically putting up barriers to other blacks.
But first, the big man, Shaquille O’Neal is stepping up to pay for the funeral of a boy who accidentally shot and killed himself.
As we reported, 13-year-old Malachi Hemphill was messing around with a gun on Instagram Live when it accidentally went off. His family heard a loud boom … and his mother and sister found him in his bedroom in a pool of blood. He died Wednesday.
After hearing about the incident, Shaq visited the family in Atlanta Thursday night and offered to pay for Malachi’s services.
The boy’s grandmother said the family didn’t have insurance for Malachi, so Shaq’s gesture is “a blessing and very touching” and she appreciates everything he does for the community.

*In other news, comedian and radio host D.L. Hughley has responded strongly to comments made by NFLer Dez Bryant made about black people being accountable for the conditions of the black community. Here’s what he posted on his Facebook page:
“If he couldn’t run, jump, or catch and Charles [Barkley] couldn’t dribble a basketball, and I couldn’t tell jokes, we would be in the same situation we look down on people for.”
As you can imagine, Hughley, a progressive on social and political issues, is not having it. He singled out Sage Steele, Ray Lewis, Stephen A. Smith, Charles Barkley and Lil Wayne before adding Bryant to the list of Black athletes, journalists, and entertainers who tend to blame black people for what they tolerate for themselves and how they treat one another.
Hughley then gave examples of other racial and ethnic groups who are currently under fire for the mistreatment of their own people, pointing out Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Bashar Al Assad in Syria, and questioned why is it that Bryant, like Barkley, Smith, Steele and company, specify the moral compass of their own people when the dynamics of lawlessness and proximity are relatively the same.
“Do you know who you are most likely to get killed by? Somebody you know, and live with. But they make it seem as if because, like Black people have this moral failing that makes us more sinister than everybody else,” Hughley said. “You weren’t born inferior. And when you say things like that, you give people who believe they are superior to you leeway to think it.”
