Tom Brady Won’t be at White House Today When Patriots Meet Trump

Brady-n-Trump

*Uh oh, this news is going to make the orange man in the White House very unhappy. That’s because when the Super Bowl-winning New England Patriots make their visit today, The Donald’s golfing buddy and most favorite athlete in whole world, Tom Brady, won’t be there.

Good Lord! Yes, you read that right. Brady cited Trumps’ overall a-hole-ness and disregard for men, women and children of color as the reason he won’t be making the visit. He also noted that as long as the president privately and publicly promotes white supremacy and hatred, he wanted nothing to do with him. Actually he said no such thing, but it felt good to write it and have a “fake news” moment. 🙂

The reality is is that real-life “family matters” as his reason for not being able to attend.

According to a tweet from the Boston Herald’s Jeff Howe, Brady’s mother has been battling cancer since before the Super Bowl, and the star QB will be spending time with her.

In truth, this isn’t the first time Brady has passed on a White House visit. In 2015, during the last term of President Obama, Brady bowed out, citing a “family commitment.”

Meanwhile, several players – according to the NY Times – have mentioned Trump’s politics as the reason they won’t be attending the ceremony. Those players include running back LeGarrette Blount, defensive end Chris Long, defensive tackle Alan Branch, linebacker Dont’a Hightower, tight end Martellus Bennett and safety Devin McCourty.
