*Prophets of Rage has returned with a scorching visual for “Radical Eyes,” the third single from their upcoming self-titled full-length debut due Sept. 15.
The group featuring Public Enemy leader Chuck D, Cypress Hill’s B-Real and three-quarters of Rage Against the Machine dropped the clip on Tuesday (Aug. 22), blending footage from last week’s deadly protest by white supremacists in Charlottesville with pictures and video from the 1960s Civil Rights Movement and World War II.
The edited flashes include everyone from Malcolm X, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Adolph Hitler and Osama Bin Laden to poet Maya Angelou, former KKK grand wizard David Duke, former Trump campaign consultant Paul Manafort, recently departed White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, Vice President Mike Pence and Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Bloody explosions follow, along with the word “Radical.”
The video ends with an image of President Trump sporting a superimposed Hitler mustache and “radical” branding before it also explodes into a bath of blood red.
According to a statement released with video, the images of the “radicals” are meant to “redefine the meaning of resistance while making one thing crystal clear: equality and human rights require active, persistence participation; ‘justice for all’ is a real live contact sport.”
