Amy Schumer Slams ‘Rumors’ She ‘Demanded’ Same Pay as Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle

rock schumer chappelle*Amy Schumer wants you to know that she DID NOT demand equal pay to Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle for her Netflix special, as previously reported.

Instead, the 36-year-old said she did ask for “more than the initial offer,” of $11 million, according to Variety. It’s was a hefty price tag for the March special, which was a ratings disaster and Schumer blamed this on alt-right trolls at the time.

Schumer took to Instagram to address rumors that she “demanded” more money to match Rock and Chappelle’s $20 million they received for their Netflix specials.

Hot dog dog. Thanks for chiming in on what you feel I deserve to be paid. I believe women deserve equal pay. However I don’t believe I deserve equal pay to Chris and Dave. They are legends and 2 of the greatest comics of all time. I would like to say that I have been selling out arenas these last couple years. Something a female comic has never done. That’s a big deal to me, especially because I know I do my best every night on stage for the audience and they have a good time. I didn’t ask for the same as my friends. I did ask for more than the initial offer. I will continue to work my ass off and be the best performer I can be. The reports of me “demanding” or “insisting” on equal pay to them aren’t a true. #fat #stealsjokes

She thanked fans for “chiming in on what you feel I deserve to be paid.”

While she believes “women deserve equal pay,” she doesn’t deserve “equal pay to Chris and Dave. They are legends.”

The 36-year-old added that while she did ask for “more than the initial offer,” she did not demand or insist equal pay to Rock and Chappelle.

Schumer’s special received overwhelmingly negative reviews from users who rated it on Netflix in March.

“I made it 10 minutes into this and shut it off,” one viewer review read.

Another viewer added, “SO BAD!! I did stay and watch the whole show in hopes that it would get better, and it didn’t.”

That’s because, in this writer’s opinion, Schumer is not funny. And she knows it too, which is why she had to share a pic herself nude while addressing her salary demands. How she made it this far in Hollywood will remain a mystery.

Another one-star user review added, “It just drags on and on. I’m really disappointed.”

The Detroit News called the special “funny but predictable.”
