*Outkast’s Andre 3000 (born Andre Benjamin) has signed on for the upcoming sci-fi film “High Life,” reports Variety.

Robert Pattinson and Juliette Binoche star in the story of convicts who are given the opportunity to reduce their prison sentences if they agree to embark upon a dangerous mission to a black hole in space.

Claire Denis will make her English language directorial debut with the project.

Principal photography will take place in Cologne, Germany. According to Variety, Denis has tapped visual artist Olafur Eliasson to design of the black hole, and scientific expertise has been provided by the astrophysicist Aurélien Barrau, as well as the European Space Agency.

Benjamin acting resume includes “Four Brothers” and a critically-acclaimed portrayal of Jimi Hendrix in “Jimi: All Is by My Side.”
