*LOS ANGELES, Calif.  — GRAMMY-winning performing artist Faith Evans will headline a celebration of Baldwin Hills Crenshaw’s 70th anniversary, with an opening performance by vocalist Rose Gold.

The event, in partnership with AARP, Metro, McDonald’s and Councilmember Marqueece Harris-Dawson, also features a variety of food trucks and street vendors presented by the Odd Market, a curator of high quality local goods and eateries.

The performances come at an exciting time in the careers of both artists. Evans recently dropped The King & I, which features a collection of never-before-heard duets with her late husband and rap icon, The Notorious B.I.G. Rose Gold recently linked up with The Pollyseeds’, a group started by Crenshaw’s own Terrace Martin, and can be heard on their recently released project, The Sounds of Crenshaw, Vol. 1. Gold also has a solo project coming out later this year.

This event commemorates Baldwin Hills Crenshaw’s 70th anniversary. Ever since the jazz-era, Baldwin Hills Crenshaw has remained a cornerstone of the South Los Angeles community and continues to honor the rich history of the area with offerings of music and entertainment year-round.
