*John Legend is teaming with Netflix for a new unscripted hip-hop competition series titled “Rhythm & Flow,” Variety reports.

No further details about the show’s format have surfaced, as the show is still in its early stages. But it has been revealed that Legend will play in the competition series as well as produce.

“Rhythm & Flow” will be the streaming service’s first foray into the talent discovery realm, in the vein of “American Idol,” and “The Voice.”

Former NBC exec Jeff Gaspin and his Primary Wave Entertainment company will produce alongside Legend, according to Variety.

As previously reported, Legend is also developing a new WGN series titled “Black Wall Street,” with actress Tika Sumpter, to tell the story of the 1921 Tulsa race riot. The series has yet to receive an official premiere date.
