‘This Is My Last Day’: Rumors Follow Jedediah Bila’s Sudden Exit from ‘The View’

*A lot happened on “The View” today.

Out of nowhere, the panel’s conservative voice, Jedediah Bila, announced that today was her last day and she was leaving the show, shocking the audience and setting off all kinds of rumors as to what’s really going on behind the scenes.

Watch below:

Not long after the show ended, Page Six had a story up linking the sudden departure to Hillary Clinton’s visit last Wednesday to promote her book “What Happened.” The story’s source said staff wasn’t happy with Bila calling Clinton “tone deaf” to her face and asking her tough questions.

“To be fair, it hasn’t just been Republicans who have taken issue with the writing of this book. Some Democrats have come out as well,” Bila told Clinton. “Former campaign surrogates of yours, former fundraisers and said, ‘This book puts us in the past and we wanna move forward, we wanna figure out where to take this party, how to succeed in the future. And this places us in the past.’ How do you respond to Democrats also coming out in criticism of you writing this?”

“I think they first should read the book,” Clinton answered.

“There was a lot of staff who were upset about how that interview was handled,” said Page Six’s source, speculating that “The View” wants the former secretary of state to appear on the show multiple times. “They had a lot to say to Jedediah about calming things down.”

Then…ten minutes after the Page Six piece was posted, Bila randomly (or not) tweeted out video of her exchange with Clinton, which many interpreted as the reason for her departure. Below, a screenshot of Bila’s now-deleted tweet.

Bila’s question to Clinton that she tweeted (then quickly deleted) may be seen below at the 5:34 mark:

Meanwhile, CNN Money reported Monday that Sen. John McCain’s daughter Meghan McCain is close to inking a deal with “The View” to replace Bila.

McCain, who had co-hosted the Fox News show “Outnumbered’ since November, abruptly announced her departure from that gig on Sept. 15, tweeting that she wants “to focus on other things.”

According to CNN Money, McCain is close to replacing Bila on “The View,” although the deal has yet to be finalized.

“They’ve been looking for a conservative voice since Candace [Cameron Bure] left,” said People’s source. “It’s important to have that at the table, and right now there’s a short list they’re considering. They will move quickly to fill the seat, and we can expect someone soon.”

Regarding Bila’s contract with “The View,” the Page Six source said she was signed on for the full season but “she left on her own accord.” The source adds, “There were some things making her uncomfortable behind the scenes, but she loves the cast. She seems to be looking forward to sharing her view in a world where there seems to be only one worldview.”
