Knucklehead Teacher Suspended for Assigning Sixth-graders Homework with Kodak Black’s Explicit Lyrics

*A Georgia middle school teacher has been suspended for giving her sixth-graders homework that featured violent and sexually suggestive lyrics by mumble “rapper” Kodak Black.

One mother in particular, Crishana Wright, pictured left, noticed her daughter Kalani’s homework featured lyrics from rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s collabo with Kodak Black, titled “Drowning”. Kalani, left, said she was instructed to switch up the negative lyrics into something positive.

The teacher provided an example of changing negative lyrics to positive. For example, instead of the lyrics “I’m drowning,” she used “I’m rising” “because we always rise above.”

The students were expected to turn the following lyrics into something 6th grade appropriate:

“Just bought a brand new chain from Avianne/N***a with attitude but I ain’t from Compton/Lil Kodak b***h I’m Polo’d down like Carlton/Sniper Gang I put a n***a on a carton.

“I’m reading all these words and I immediately asked her why she had this and she said it was an assignment,” Wright told WSB-TV.

While Wright said she understood the teacher’s intention, she also believes it wasn’t well-thought-out.

“You’re dealing with children’s minds; you have to be very cautious,” she said.

DeKalb County School District Superintendent R. Stephen Green said in a statement that: “The assignment was inappropriate, unacceptable and contrary to our standards. The employee responsible has been removed from the classroom and will be held accountable for such poor judgment. While we encourage teacher creativity, the expectation is that the instruction is always standards-based and age appropriate.”

Sadly, none of the other parents complained about the homework assignment.
