As Digital Spy reports, season three saw Cookie finally land a coveted position of power at Empire Entertainment, the record company she built with husband Lucious (Terrence Howard). Heading into season four means viewers will see more of Cookie the CEO – and less of the loud-mouth ghetto queen who likes to pop off at every turn.

“You will see a very different Cookie this season. More reserved,” Taraji told Digital Spy. “She can’t pop off. She’s heading up board meetings.”
She added: “She’s still very stern and true to who she is. I think she’s doing good in this new CEO position.”
Season 4 of “Empire” will also include Oscar-winner Forest Whitaker, who plays music icon Uncle Eddie, a vital mentor from Lucious’ past.
“Empire” returns to Fox on September 27. In the UK, it has moved from its old home at E4 and will instead debut on 5STAR later this fall.
Meanwhile, fans of the actress have been following her Natural Hair Journey all summer on social media, and she recently opened up to The Huff Post about how she’s still working to undo the damage that occurs when Eurocentric beauty standards are internalized.
“[Black women] have shame when it comes to our hair. What we’ve been told, ‘Your hair is nappy.’ It’s not nappy, it’s curly. That’s a curl, that’s a coil. That’s energy leading up and I was like, we need to convey that message because I see a lot of girls, natural, is it for fashion or do you really understand what that is? It is a crown that God gave you. Our hair defies gravity without any products. Do you know how powerful that is? That’s powerful.”
