Cassandra Lucas is Back on the Scene and Making Waves with ‘I Love You’ (LISTEN)

*The unchanging face – and voice – of singer/songwriter Cassandra Lucas is back on the music scene in 2017, gifting listeners with three new hit singles, paving the way for her solo debut CD.

Known as one-half of platinum selling R&B duo Changing Faces, she has returned to claim her rightful position as one of today’s top music talents.

Hailing from East Harlem in New York City, Lucas always loved to sing, as a kid.  She enjoyed watching “Soul Train” on television with her Dad, leading her to attend the East Harlem Performing Arts school, where the singing bug bit her and her favorite music teacher, Mr. Kurt Faucette, helped her nurture her voice, honing her craft by singing in the gospel chorus and performing in musical plays.  He taught Cassandra her first classical song, which she sang in order to get into the renowned “Fame” school in New York, the La Guardia High School of Performing Arts.  That is where she met, and later teamed up with, another local talent, Charisse Rose.  The two performed as backup singers for popular R&B vocalist Sybil, prior to stepping out on their own, forming Changing Faces and becoming a hit-driven, dynamic duo, scoring hits such as “Stroke You Up,” “Foolin’ Around” and “G.H.E.T.T.O.U.T,” throughout the mid 90’s to the early 2000’s.  Their debut self-titled CD hit #1 on the Billboard R&B Charts and throughout their notable career, sold millions of records, with 3 singles in the Top Ten on the Billboard Charts, which is rare for a vocal duo.

Outside of Changing Faces, Lucas demonstrated her songwriting skills, by co-writing and doing background vocals/vocal arrangements for Donnell Jones on “Special Girl” and “Apple Pie,” for Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, on “Friends,” and for Jodi Watley on “Off The Hook,” which went #1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Chart.

When Changing Faces experienced creative differences in 2013, Cassandra switched gears, and added another dimension to her career.  She stretched her business wings, forming CRC Musik, with her husband and co-producer, Noel “Chris” Absolam, and business partner, Richard Smith.  CRC Musik is developing brand new artists that Cassandra is excited to nurture and school about the music business.  She loves to discover and develop new talent, feeling that there are lots of extremely gifted people who are simply not given a chance to be heard.

And now, Lucas is prepared for her resurgence, this time as a solo artist.  She has three outstanding singles that are launching her back onto radio and other venues where her fans, both old and new, can enjoy them.  One song is “Music & A Beat,” an infectious uptempo party anthem, another is the bouncy “I Love You,” a midtempo inspirational single (much needed for these days and times) and the third is “Give Love A Chance,” a world beat tune that Cassandra wrote long ago, but has a potent, relevant message for what’s going on in the world in 2017.  The proceeds from the sales of the third song are earmarked to go toward charitable relief efforts.  All of her new songs beautifully feature Cassandra’s smooth, golden vocal tones and demonstrate her acumen at crafting hits.

Cassandra Lucas is focused, passionate and ready to roll, with three fresh new hits, a stunning look that defies that any time has passed since her initial debut, and a determination to capture the solo success that her talent warrants.
