*Nike has enlisted a select group of collaborators to design special versions of the white-on-white colorway of its Air Force 1 sneaker in celebration of the shoe’s 35th birthday.

Travis Scott, Don C, Virgil Abloh and Roc-A-Fella’s Kareem “Biggs” Burke are among the creatives chosen for the project.

When speaking with Nike about the design, Burke noted that in the early days of Roc-A-Fella, he and fellow members would buy up to 150 pairs at a time, filling up their street team vehicle with the iconic shoe.

In 2000, Nike blessed the label execs with exclusive white-on-whites, a legendary moment for Biggs. “All these stores around Harlem, you know, you’d see the Air Force 1, and it’s like you’re a little kid. Like, ‘Man, when I get some money I’m gonna get that.’ So, now that our logo was on the sneaker, I mean, it was one of the most special things for us.”

The Roc-a-Fella Air Force 1 is a simple twist on the classic silhouette, featuring the label’s black logo stamped near the heel, and on the tongue and insole. The limited quantity release is available today (Nov. 30) on a first-come, first-served basis at the newly-opened Sneakeasy in Manhattan and select House of Hoops and Kith locations ($150).
