*Actor LeVar Burton, best known for his work in Reading Rainbow and Star Trek: The Next Generation, is getting bombarded with racist and angry tweets from miserable Donald Trump supporters who have mistaken him for LaVar Ball.
As you know, Ball is the father of UCLA basketball player and thief LiAngelo Ball, whom Trump helped free after he got caught shoplifting in China. Ball and Trump have been engaged in a public feud for the past several days because 45 is enraged that Ball didn’t personally thank him for helping his son avoid a potentially lengthy prison sentence.
Ball has refused to thank Trump, telling CNN on Monday: “How’d he help? If he helped, I would say thank you.”
Then on Wednesday, Trump escalated his feud with Ball, calling him a “fool.”
“It wasn’t the White House, it wasn’t the State Department, it wasn’t father LaVar’s so-called people on the ground in China that got his son out of a long term prison sentence – IT WAS ME,” Trump tweeted early Wednesday. “Too bad! LaVar is just a poor man’s version of Don King, but without the hair.”

LeVar Burton, who simply happens to share a similar first name with Ball, has now found himself in the midst of the spat. As UpRoxx notes, furious Trump supporters have been hitting Burton up on Twitter and slamming him for being “ungrateful” after they watched interviews of LaVar Ball on CNN and Fox News Tuesday morning.
On Twitter, Burton responded to a tweet that mistook him for Ball by calling it “one of the many sleights I am having to endure these days.”
