‘She’s Gotta Have It’: Netflix Series Launches Empowering #MyNameIsnt Campaign

*Netflix’s “She’s Gotta Have It” centers on Brooklyn-based artist Nola Darling (DeWanda Wise) and in a memorable scene during the first episode, she experiences a traumatic late-night attack by a toxic male who initiated contact by yelling “Aye, Yo Ma!” and other names at her.

After the attack, Nola is inspired to create street art that shines a light on the persistent catcalling that women endure daily. Netflix is furthering the message with the social media campaign, “My Name Isn’t…”

Using the hashtag #MyNameIsnt, women are encouraged to share their experiences with catcalling.

The show’s star, creative team and other women of color have kicked off the conversation by coming together to share their stories and tell the world “My Name Isn’t…”
