On the ‘Star Wars’ Red Carpet with Lupita Nyong’o (EUR Exclusive – Watch!)

*Disney pulled out all of the stops for the premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi Saturday night in Los Angeles.

The event was held at the Shrine auditorium, complete with familiar icons from the galactic universe’s franchise featured all over the red carpet.

Stormtroopers, R2 D2 & C3PO made their way down the elaborate walk way that was filled with life-sized cast posters, and even had a shoe display filled with footwear inspired by the film that was designed by Christian Louboutin.

EURweb spoke with some of the film’s stars including Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o who portrays the CGI created character of “Maz Kanata,” and Domhall Gleeson who stars as ruthless First Order officer “General Hux.”

Also hitting the glittered red carpet were singers/actresses Chloe and Halle Bailey. The two sisters gained popularity on YouTube before ending up on tour with Beyonce. In January they will appear on FreeForm’s “Grownish,” the spinoff of ABC’s hit comedy “Blackish” next to Yara Shahidi.

One of the film’s key actors almost didn’t make it to the premiere. John Boyega who portrays Finn- the once storm trooper who has made the decision to turn away from the dark side – made a mad dash down the carpet at the last minute, after a snowstorm in Atlanta canceled flights Saturday, almost leaving him stranded. He tweeted early Saturday morning, “Trying to get back for the LA premiere! I actually NEED a pilot !!!”

Directed by Rian Johnson, the latest installment continues from where “Force Awakens” left off. It features some rumored secret cameos plus a few old favorites including the return of Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker after 30 years.

“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” opens everywhere on December 15.
