*So much for black-owned radio in NYC (with the exception of WWRL am, but who listens to it?).
If you haven’t heard, WBLSfm and WLIBam are being acquired by Emmis after it’s been determined a $131 million transaction will double the company’s station operating income.
WBLS 107.5 FM — focusing on urban adult contemporary — is the No. 2 radio station in New York while it sister station WLIB 1190 AM is New York’s fist African American targeted station — focusing on urban gospel.
The agreement will double Emmis’ annual station operating income — who already owns WQHT (HOT 97) in New York.

I am so grateful…it came from God, the Most High.”
*Lenard McKelvey is a radio personality on Power 105.1 and MTV2 host.

On his Arsenio Hall Show debut, the hip-hop Howard Stern, threw shade at DMX, reality TV and explained his distant relationship with his former boss Wendy Williams.
When asked how he started working in radio, the “Breakfast Club” host thanked the talk show gossip queen but admitted they haven’t spoken in almost five years.
*Congrats are in order to Nicole Ari Parker.
The busy mom/entrepreneur/actress will add radio host to her long, glowing resume and many duties.
She’s the new special celebrity correspondent to the nationally syndicated radio show, “Cafe Mocha.”
