Comment: I have a question to ask some of you ladies out there. Why is it when a sista goes out and gets herself a white man all I hear is "You Go Girl!" and "Congratulations" and "Love is BLind". But when a brother has a relationship with someone from another race it's suddenly an abomination and he becomes a sellout whom you will no longer continue to support by going to see their movies, buy their cds, or cheer them on in their sports career. I am a black black man married to a beautiful black woman, and I used to kind of trip when I saw interracial couples. But after surviving the dating scene I think that if you are lucky enough to find anyone who's special enough to spend the rest of your life with, I say more power to you. But holla back and give me some clarity to this obvious double standard.

When I see an interracial couple, I don't trip whether it's a black male dating out their race or a black female dating out their race. I happen to be married to a black man and when I see another black man with a white woman, it doesn't bother me because I have a man at home. It's people that are insecure with themselves that have the problem with other people dating out of their race. If you are secure within your skin, you don't need to worry about what the next brotha or sistah is dating. If you are happy with yourself, you will have someone of your own and if you don't, you will still be happy “with yourself”. When are insecure with yourself, you need to look within yourself and see why you are by yourself and worrying about why a black man is not dating you. Maybe it’s you and not that man.

When a black man marries a white woman, and is questioned about it, he rarely says it's because of love. And face it, black women are the largest group of single women in North America AND the world. The pool of eligible, educated, CHILDLESS, black men with no criminal records is getting smaller and smaller by the minute. Comment: I just think this marriage is neat, because I met my wife(Trinidadian) through a dating website, and I am a white American man, while she is a mixed Indian/Black. I consider myself to be somewhat good-looking, while she is knock-out! I don't believe race should be the issue, but rather the dependance and love for one another(note that they knew each other in college for two years!). What's in the heart is all that matters. Believe me. . . I know.
