Comment: "Brother's Gonna Work It Out" & "Love Power" are indeed two dance jams that are still enjoyed today. They are signature songs that Timmy Regisford still plays during his morning sets between 8am-10am. I am more than sure that Hal Jackson will pay him a proper tribute this Sunday on WBLS. RIP -- your music indeed lives on!!!!

Comment: Aaaw, I remember his name on the "I'll be There" 45 record. I didn't know he did Foxy Brown. The theme to "Foxy Brown" is my own personal theme song. He was brilliant. RIP.

Comment: Khufu: ooh man, yall taking me back...Brotha's gonna work it out, and my favorite was "I Choose You" (my main man Youngblood sometimes plays it on the radio on saturday mornings on KISS 104.01 in atlanta) shoot, i think about brotha Willie Hutch makes me want to pull out my funky platform shoes and my wide leg bellbottom pants with the wide cuff in them and my afro puffs. that was when polyester was "sho nuff hip" aww can ya dig it?

Name: TAZBABY

Comment: anyone ever see the documentary on The Funk Brothers?

Name: Priceless
Comment: some of these folks are just dying so young .. RIP Willie

Name: Priceless
Comment: khufu, I bought the Funk Brothers DVD ... it's excellent and very entertaining ... I bet Willie was mentioned and depicted in the Jackson mini-series ... now I wanna see that again

Name: GHank
Comment: Willie Hutch was just another of my many, many influences when it comes to R&B and funk. These guys really don't get enough credit for what they did. I'm sure Curtis Mayfield, Barry White, Edwin Starr, Marvin Gaye and most of the Funk Brothers all the others are in a higher place creating some good music.

Name: bigchassie
Comment: kufu: man, so you know about "De Blood" yeah, i love that man. he be keeping it hot on Saturday Morning. i get my Saturday Started with him. yeah, I Choose You was hip. i tell you that funk brothers DVD was hip. it was a real good documentary. they did not get the respect they deserve. but that music will always remain in my heart and as long as i'm alive i will be true to the real music...THE OLD SCHOOL!

Name: Teigh
Comment: Kufu> I know what you mean about typing...sometime you're in a zone typing your thoughts and don't realize you missed a few letters or typed the wrong ones...Hal will more than likely give him 1 or 2 segments. I have Willie Hutch's recordings...just need to dig in the crates and pull em out. Regarding the Legendary Funk Brothers, that documentary was awesome and they went through h#ll to get it made. Berry Gordy did not want to compromise on the rights.... Stevie helped them out big time, but they could not use his songs....the crazy and sad part is that when they finally started getting some respect for their contributions; they started fighting amongst themselves....and are in the midst of a big lawsuit -- they've divided into two camps.
