Comment: clearly with her size, showbiz will not come knocking and now that she has been open about her anti-gay feelings she'd be lucky to have a career at all...gays run showbiz, broadway and for that matter gospel...but at least gospel would take her in, but they are a "clicky" bunch. Best to do what Rueben did when he made Fred Hammond his mentor...she needs to find a mentor in gospel...ya'll remember those no-talented sisters angie and debbie winans when they had thier song "not-natural" and you never heard from them again...she needs to be very careful, if she wants a career.

Comment: I wish Mandisa well. And so far as last week's bottom 3 (ManD/Elliot/Paris), I was disappointed but far from shocked. After Fantasia/LaToya London/Jennifer Hudson landed in the bottom3 during Season 3, it was clear that AI is more about "acceptable" personalities than outstanding talent.

Comment: I agree that what Mandisa said wasn't inflammatory, but what she believes. However, she should backtrack or be concerned by their "anger" by saying she'll open to perform for for a gay group or a gay-themed show. She needs to stick to her beliefs and leave it at that. She not a "right wing fool" but someone who has strong beliefs -- nothing wrong with that. Also, she is obese and her weight, IMO, doesn't look good. However, I don't think she would have a hard time in the music business because she not competing with the Beyonce's or the Ashanti's.

Comment: Mandisa is a beautiful sista. I did think that last outfit she wore made her look like a teepee at an IHOP convention, but she was trying. Who cares who she would sing for? I wouldn't sing for the Republican Nat'l Convention. I wouldn't get too hung up on her beliefs. They are hers, whether peeps agree or not. I would have just kept that to myself.

Comment: Not EVERY issue or event has to be centered around gay people and their drama. It's getting really old and ridiculous. If she doesn't want to associate with gay people, that doesn't make her a homophobe or religious freak, it makes her a person with a strong moral compass and I salute her. I wouldn't associate with them either. Too bad closets don't have revolving doors so they can get the f*ck back in and leave the rest of us in peace.

There is no closet for anyone to "go back to", that's like telling black folks to go back to africa. being gay is not a "lifestyle" anymore than being straight is. It is a way of life and no "manmade bible" can determine how or who anyone loves. We always atribute our prejudices to the bible. The golden rule is to treat others as you want to be treated. Whom a person chooses to love is no business of mine or yours or mandisa's for that matter. It's personal and we are not expected to understand on that level about any of our love choices.
