Questions to ponder today: Why is that when the elections in Iraq were taking place, all out of country residents were allowed to vote absentee ballot, but displaced residents of N.O. have to return to Louisiana just so there votes can be counted? Also if the immigrants who did vote in the Iraq elections are now citizens of the US, why are they still voting in Iraq aren't they now considered U.S. citizens? If they are still Iraqi citizens living in the U.S., will they be marching along with the Hispanic immigrants today, or does this new rule plan to be enforced only on Mexican immigrants? Somebody help me out, I am just a little confused.

Received a call from my cousin and another cousin of ours 23 yrs old dropped dead playing basketball, no previous health issues, he is my cousin's only child please pray for our family.

The Mom died before help could arrive, they have a recording of the call, and they are talking about the necessary steps will be taken after an investigation takes place. Can you all say BULLSHIT!!! Loss is very hard to deal with- especially when it involves those who are so young... {RYTAY} Brokeback Mountain was a pretty decent movie. It started out slow, but overall it was good. The only thing I didn't like was the deception the main characters had when it came to dealing with their wives. It added a new meaning to 'DL'. The unfortunate thing was that the clues were there. The wives just chose to ignore them... I hope this helps! How does everyone feel about the little boy who called 9-1-1 in Detroit where they refused to send paramedics because the operator thought the child was playing? The mother died as a result of this.

I mean, the caller has to pay for it...not the dispatcher right? Clearly, ambulances are not free which is how a lot of black or poor die in the first dayum place.

"It was a bit stupid. She could just have kept the wallet," said a spokeswoman for police in the southwestern city of Darmstadt. "But she wanted the finder's reward -- and might have got one anyway. But she opted to extort it instead."
Police said the 47-year-old found the owner's phone number in the wallet and told the pensioner she could only have it back for 100 euros "plus 20 euros travel costs."
The owner agreed to the terms, and tipped off police, who arrested the woman with the wallet at the handover point

I know that he always says women have a hard time giving a man in a precarious situation a chance, which I agreed with him on some points because I can be very judgmental. But over the weekend I met a guy whose ex girlfriend is living with him, and is pregnant, the baby is due june 10. They broke up soon after she became pregnant, but then she became homeless and moved in with him. Normally, I would run away screaming from a situation like this, however, there is something special about this man so I'm going to give it a chance, especially since he was so honest about it. I think it's very rare though (almost unbelievable) for two people who have a child together and who live together to not still be messing around in some type of way...but he says they're not - not that it matters at this point b/c I don't know him. I guess we will see. Would you guys run? Where are the men on the board?

Comment: ImJustAsking - I'm just saying...crazy shyt like that is what makes up the fabric of one's life. When I met my 1st long-term boyfriend, he lied and said he had one child - a 5 yr old. Come to find out, he had an ex-girlfriend living at his grandmom's house with a 1-year old. That's in addition to the 5 yr old. On top of that, he had an 8-month old! We stayed together for 5 crazy years. In retrospect, I'm so happy to have been with him (to get all the crazy dramatic shyt out of the way early in my life).

Comment: Good Morning folks. What an eventful weekend. I live in Nashville, TN and let me say that the tornadoes tow sum shat up over the weekend. It hit the surrounding counties, but not where I live. I feel sorrry for all b/c that tornado decimated trailer and brick homes alike. Most of the deaths occurred from people who live in trailers. One tornado ripped a community college in half, went straight through the building.

DETROIT -- A prominent lawyer said he plans to file a lawsuit over the death of a Detroit woman whose young son was unable to convince a 911 operator his mother needed help.
Geoffrey Fieger said 46-year-old Sherrill Turner, who had an enlarged heart, would have survived if help had been sent immediately.
After Turner collapsed, Robert placed two calls to 911. In the first call, Robert said his mother had passed out, but an operator asked to speak with an adult.
Robert Turner called 911 to get help for his mother, whom he found lying unconscious on the kitchen floor of their Detroit apartment in February, the station reported.
"Then I had felt her tummy. She wasn't breathing. Then I had called 911," said Robert. "I told them to send an emergency truck right now."
Police arrived after the second call. But Sherrill Turner was dead.
Fieger, best known for defending assisted-suicide advocate Jack Kevorkian, appeared on morning talk shows with the boy, Robert Turner, who turned 6 last month.

My "friend" is very attractive and honest but he was living with his baby's mama because she didn't have nowhere to turn and he didn't want to leave his children out in the cold. Anyway that was two years ago and guess what? Aint a dayum thing changed. Now I tried to keep it on a friendship level for as long as possible but you know eventually when youre dealing with someone you're attracted to...shyt will happen! So now I'm in his system and he's in mine and its very diffcult to let go even though we both know its for the best. You know I have one friend who ONLY wears black or brown shoes. BOOOOO Anyhoo, yes the bronze sounds great. Strappy looks good with Capri pants…although if the pants hit right below the knee and are tapered to the leg (especially if you’re short), it’s usually better to go for a pump (even a peep-toe one) b/c it elongates the leg and has a smoother transition into the ankle area. On the other hand, if your capris are not tapered and are more on the wide side, a pump can look awkward and strappy is better…unless the capris come down to the ankle in which case, once again, the pump would look better. NOW if you go for a pump, I would not go for bronze, I would do red, yes red – provided the pumps have no decorations or funky things going on. Simple red with black and white is stunning. But if you go for the strappy sandals the bronze makes sense…b/c red with straps is hookerish (not that you mind that), plus that zebra print is flashy enough. I will say that depending on the bronze, it could make your foot fade out…so you could consider a black or gold bejeweled shoe! Now, about Aldo! I have always heard that their shoes fall apart, even from a girl who worked there…is that true? I’ve never had a pair from there.

Comment: Alright yall...my own bit of personal drama. My ex-husband, my daughter's father, calls her on her cell. She doesn't answer. He leaves messages, she doesn't call him back. He calls my parents. My dad calls my daughter to tell her to call her dad. She does this grudgingly cause her Poppi wanted her too and she thinks he's the world. My dad also invites ex-husband to her high school graduation (not until 2007). I am annoyed with my dad for bothering my daughter with her father's non-sense. I felt he should have just let her know, he'd called and left it alone. In addition, I don't think he should be inviting him to graduation. Tickets are limited and I feel they should be for those who had an ACTIVE hand in raising her. Besides that, I feel the decision should be hers. Am I wrong to be ANNOYED with my dad?

My friend went through a similar situation, her father was not around at all when she was growing up and her mom did NOT want him taking up a ticket at graduation. But since she’s been 18 she chats with her father and doesn’t hold a grudge anymore. She knows he’s still a loser and she accepts it. I think they should always have hs graduations outside that way pretty much everyone can come. For people who don't go to college, high school graduation is all they have. Just a thought. Comment: Good Afternoon All!! I hope everyone is well on today. Just dropping in to check in with ya'll. We buried my 88 year old Grandfather on Saturday and it was a homegoing to remember. I got the call at work last Tuesday afternoon to come to the hospital as there was nothing else they could do for him and that it was only a matter of time. Apparently he had a brain anneurysm in his sleep. He had a pulse and was breathing on his own but he was technically brain dead. They said he could be in that state for hours or days. I left work and joined my family at the hospital. We were ALL there gathered around him letting him know how much we loved him. Pastor came and said the prayer. When the prayer was done, my Grandaddy took 2 long, deep breaths and he was gone. It was as if he had waited for us to gather and pray before he went home. One of the hardest things to see, but my heart instantly felt at peace that he was gone on to a better place. He had lived a long full life and mine is all the more better from having had him in it. I feel soooo blessed. We love and miss him a great deal already, but I know he and my Granny are cuttin' a rug something awful up there together. Thanks for letting me share. Have a great day!!

Judge stops feds at last minute from seizing permanent gold dental work

TACOMA, Wash. - Talk about taking a bite out of crime.
Government lawyers tried to confiscate the gold tooth caps known as "grills" from the mouths of two men facing drug charges, saying the dental work qualified as seizable %*$ets. They had them in a vehicle headed to a dental clinic by the time defense attorneys persuaded a judge to halt the procedure.
"I've been doing this for over 30 years, and I have never heard of anything like this," said Richard J. Troberman, a past president of the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. "It sounds like Nazi Germany when they were removing the gold teeth from the bodies, but at least then they waited until they were dead."
Prosecutors had a warrant to seize the gold dental work, according to documents and lawyers involved in the case. But they eventually abandoned the effort, saying they mistakenly thought the grills were removable.
The customized tooth caps, popularized by rappers such as Nelly, are made of precious metals and jewels and can cost thousands of dollars for a full set. Some can be snapped onto the teeth, while others are permanently bonded to the teeth.
Flenard T. Neal Jr. and Donald Jamar Lewis both have permanently bonded grills, their lawyers said.
Neal and Lewis, both charged with several drug and weapon violations, were taken Tuesday from the Federal Detention Center to the U.S. marshal's office, where they were told the government had a warrant to seize the grills. They called their lawyers as they were about to be taken to a dentist, said Miriam Schwartz, Neal's public defender.
A permanent stay of the seizure order was that day by U.S. Magistrate J. Kelley Arnold, court documents show.
"%*$et forfeiture is a fairly routine procedure, and our attorneys were under the impression that these snapped out like a retainer," said Emily Langlie, a spokeswoman for the U.S. attorney's office in Seattle.
The defense lawyers criticized what they said was a clandestine attempt to have the grills removed.
"It's shocking that this kind of action by the federal government could be sought and accomplished in secret, without anyone being notified," said Zenon Peter Olbertz, who represents Lewis. "It reminds me of the secret detentions" in terrorist cases.
Langlie and court clerks said seizure warrants are typically sealed to prevent defendants from trying to move or hide valuables and evidence. They become public with the filing of a return that shows what was seized.

I'm interested to know what MYOPRAH thinks about Pink's new video b/c clearly she has had all the people Pink talks trash about on her show and was supporting their skanky image.

That is devastating for me to hear. Our young people are going away from here just like the older folk. The same thing happened to this 14 year old in my hometown. Came back from playing basketball, collapsed and died. They said he had a heart attack. Heart breaking. Stay prayed up ya'll. TommyStrong> I didn't realize you just went through the same thing. My prayers are with you as well. I am sure you know how blessed the two of us were to have such strong grandparents in our lives. I can definitely relate. Thanks again. OK, now who else is pizzed that Grey's Anatomy will be reruns for the next MONTH. UGHH!! Does anyone watch "Big Love" on HBO? It comes on after the Soprano's.....
