Comment: Tramel get over it we all know what color they really are. It was a white man's idea so naturally the characters are gonna be white.

Comment: Whether it is a film or tv show, you can cast who you like. Alot of people are familiar with Moses and Jesus being white and this is how they are doing this show. You must know something I do not know because I have not seen a picture of Moses to say if he was white, black, or chinese. Let people interpret things as they like since we do not know the actual facts. If you do not like it make a movie with a Black Moses.

Comment: I grew up in Columbus, Georgia and the Jews (Moses was one) were white and prone to say %*$!(@ as much as the other white peckerwoods. My advice to those ofyou who have movie casting problems is: "Suspend your disbelief" and enjoy the movie!

Comment: There were definitely some white pharoahs when the Greeks established the Macedonian dynasty. Ptolemy I was one of Alexander the Great's generals. However, the earlier dynasties, including the one assumed to be in power during the exodus, most likely had true natives of northern Africa. As depictions on walls show peoples of various colors, the Egyptians probably came in many shades. Given that Egypt was a dominating power for centuries, the influx of people from all regions (conquered, enslaved or tradesmen) provided a rich multi-cutural society (sort of like Brazil is today). As for the color of the Jews, who knows? In the Song of Solomon, King Solomon is described as having an abdomen of ivory and legs like pillars of alabaster. Sounds pretty white to me, but obviously unimportant at the time. The object of his affection described herself as dark, but lovely. And given Solomon's relationship with the Queen of Sheba (Ethiopia), he definitely had a thing for the sistas. Color did not matter to them, but I guess we just enjoy arguing about it. I suppose we all would like to see ourselves in significant stories we read.

Comment: Egyptians come in many shades, just like Black Americans... And When did we start spelling Africa with a 'K'? Most important, why start a petition about the casting of actors for a TV movie? You SHOULD be worried about the bigger issues of the day, like the impending wear in Iran and this immigration mess. People who are not even US Citizens are dictating US policies on immigration. If they force the government to waver on this issue, it will be Black folks that suffer, so get your head out of your derrierre and pay attention!!!

Comment: That's 'war', not 'wear'. Sorry...

Comment: Why are there a bunch of people posting who know very little of African history and actually encouraging everyone to just basically "give up and accept" what the majority White media puts out there about us? These are some quotes from the posts: "get over it....let people interpret things as they like since we don't know the actual facts....Jews (Moses was one) were White....suspend your disbelief and enjoy the movie....dark, but lovely...." This is the problem with some Black people -- so passive and willing to settle and not wanting to fight for much of anything! In these posts, thank goodness for "musbdherbs," "naturalsista," and "gemami," who gave the right point of view on this topic.
