Comment: If Half and Half and Girlfriends are cancelled I'll be upset. Those are the only two black shows I watch, the rest of them suck. I think after all these shows get cancelled there will be less predominantly black shoes on TV than there have been for a long time.

Comment: BET is always missing the boat.

Comment: Although I seldom watch the shows on these networks, at least the actors are getting a paycheck!!

Comment: Last night's episode of Girlfriends seemed like a primer for a pretty decent spin-off. Why would they do that not knowing the fate of their shows on the new network?

Comment: “BET tends to try to convince advertisers to buy the network in order to support the African-American marketplace rather than to sell the network based on its own demographics,” he said. - Interesting point on how the business works on the inside. Go, TV One! I just wish we were beyond the point of recycling these UPN and WB shows over and over again. Alot of them before they started on UPN or WB used to be on ABC, NBC or CBS too. The ones that didnt make it got bumped over to UPN and WB. I wonder if TV One will get that animated claymation show Eddie Murphy and Company did on Fox called The P.J.'s.

Comment: This saddens me because where I live we don't get TV One. I really liked Eve, Half and Half and One on One. There aren't any shows on the major channels that show us. I guess I'll just have to catch reruns and watch DVDs of these shows. So does this mean they will keep Girlfriends and All of Us?

Comment: I am so glad that I have direct tv so that I can now watch TV one. They are so much better than the 20+ year established BET.

Comment: One of the reasons most of today's 20somethings have no idea what today's 30somethings are talking about when it comes to Pop Culture, Music and what was on TV and in the movies in the 70s and 80s is because of the grand crossover of TV to Cable that happened in the early 80s combined with old shows and old movies they used to show on TV on the regular. Most X Generationers can remember all that we saw in the 70s and 80s. We also saw reruns on regular TV from the 40s, 50s and 60s so we actually got educated on what we just missed or weren't around to see. Fast forward to kids born around 1982. By that time and going forward most old shows and cartoons etc were taken off of regular TV and hadn't started to be put on cable yet with what we have today - 100 to 500 channels. This meant a whole new generation of young people (the X-Generations younger brothers and sisters) missed a whole boatload of great tv, movies shown and great music on the radio. This is one of the reasons there is a generation gap betweem today's 30somethings and 20 somethings. Something I never even thought I would see in life. How can two age groups that are so close in age have such a wide gap of information that was lost? Maybe this will be a positive for TV One with their syndication deal too. They can help to bridge that gap with programing from the 60s, 70s and 80s for starters.

Comment: check out the black family channel also. this channel shows vintage black movies from the 30s/40s. i am happy we have other choices besides bet.

Comment: What happened on Girlfriends last night? I missed everthing but the last 3 minutes, featuring either Tia or Tamera and some guy.

Comment: SORRY TO SAY IT BUT I HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF ONE ON ONE AND EVE ANYWAY. THEY CAN REALLY GO. BUT LEAVE HALF & HALF THAT'S MY SHOW.

Name: DallasDiva
Comment: I think the Girlfriends spin-off is okay, it had it's funny parts but it won't be as successful as GF. Maybe it will get funnier when 'Joan' starts appearing.

Comment: NOLA_IN_ONE...YOUR RIGHT. LAST NIGHT WAS A GOOD SHOW TO BECOME A SPIN OFF TO THE SHOW. I REALLY ENJOYED IT AND ALL THE GUEST STARS THEY HAD ON IT. BUT IS IT ME, OR WAS THE BOYFRIEND, LYNN'S BROTHER A FEW SHOES AGO? I WAS JUST WONDERING?

Name: naturalsista
Comment: >karamelky, nola -- he did play lynn's brother.

Comment: Girlfriends, Everybody Hates Cris, Top Model, Veronica Mars are the shows that are slated to be picked up by the new network at this time.

Comment: You know what? This isn't ALL BAD. This is HOW it's supposed to be. I am sick and tired of crying and bellyaching to the 'powers that be'. The traditional studios and networks. This could be the opportunity we need to BUILD OUR OWN distribution in the television world via TV One in particular and BET. True, the dollars for the creative professionals won't be great initially, but as the audience grows and TV One moves into more households, it all can change! Personally, I am sick and tired of going through the same routine over and over again and HOPEFULLY, the creative professionals who create Black Content are too. To hell with UPN, the WB and now the CW who have PIMPED our talent for years. Take it to TV One. Take it to BET. I guarantee you that once they are successful, the CW will come back to COMPETE with us which means more WORK (and programming) for ALL! We are a POWERFUL FORCE!!! Let's stop the fricken BEGGING NOW!! BLAktor.

Comment: >DallasDiva: It'll sure get funnier looking when Joan starts appearing!

Name: Priceless
Comment: It's no surprise that BET would miss the boat on this, but I hope TV-One picks up Half n Half at least .... One on One has run its course if the truth be told

Name: ericsgirl
Comment: LOL @ jazzfan.

Name: McNasty
Comment: So Jazzfan, you trying to say Diana's daughter is funny looking?LOL

Name: reflection
Comment: Of course they are going to keep Girlfriends, even though it has been a bit stale as of late. last night's episode was really good, interesting that it just so happens that the regulars didn't appear except for a brief cameo by Joan.Seems like this would make a good spinoff. I thought the rookie football player looked familiar but I couldn't place him. he was Lynn's brother in an earlier episode

Comment: Formula for most of the Black sitcoms on WB & UPN: Central character is female who owns own business. Throw in a diva character that's totally stuck on herself and is materialistic as hell. Now throw in a goofy-guy who misses the point of everythign you say to him. He is CRAZY about one of the other characters (usually the diva). Now at least twice an episode have someone say "OH NO YOU DI'IN'T!!" with a neck wobble of course. Let's face it, except for Everybody Loves Chris and one or two others the other shows are so bad, predictable & stale that NOBODY will really miss them. To heck with trying to force the networks to save them let's force them to stop shoving mindless crap at us.

Comment: TV-One is a great network. I you don't have it please call your cable company. My children love Throwback Theater. Real great shows

Name: katee
Comment: Stop blaming BET as if they are some independently run company. They are owned by Viacom, a white run big business that doesn't give a damn about what's in the interest of black entertainment, black art, or black culture.
