Comment: I knew there was a such thing as an addiction to plastic surgery.

Comment: Grace the Barbie Twins are addicted to surgery and so is Joan Rivers. Although I hope Joan River's surgeon has told her enough is enough. I'm not aware of any black women just yet that suffer this obsession but we seem to pick all the rest of their bad azz habits!

Comment: Vivica Fox and Lil Kim come to mind. I will say this, most of the "addictions" are white women, but you never know. When Lil Kim gets out she may very well "treat herself" to a surgery or two. I hope Vivica reads all the black blogs and stops before it's too late.

Comment: You have to love what you wereborn with. Sure, something can be changed, but to change just because is real stupid. I'll soon to be 52 and look 32 naturally because I take very good care of my skin, plus I was born with great skin. I always want to look like my other brothers and sisters, but to change just to look younger is very stupid....

Comment: The bigger question is why is it that Black people hate thier natural features so much. We are already straightening and changing the texture of our hair. More and more of us are having nose jobs. Some of us are changing our eye color. What is next? The bleaching of skin? Oh yeah, we're already doing that.

Comment: People can change their noses and add to their hair, but when they have kids you know what's up, but then these are the type of folks that may believe that their mate must have "good hair" or certain features they deem as attractive.

Comment: >Harriet, you got that right. I can see having plastic surgery if you have a deformity or suffered an accident or it is necessary because of a procedure or medical reasons(i.e., breast implants after a mastectomy, or breast reduction due to health issues). But all this nip-tuck just because "I don't like my nose" is a little extreme. It seems to me most of the people who get plastic surgery don't NEED it. They look perfectly fine. I think they need help on the inside. When it comes to "us", I feel that more often than not that is the real issue. (i.e., Micheal Jackson, Lil Kim, Vivica Fox, etc..) These are examples of beautiful black people who were FINE AS THEY WERE. Now they look like science projects gone horribly wrong. We need to learn to love the beauty we have. I have a broad nose, thick lips, dark skin and a big butt. I love it all and I'm fine as hell. Would not change a thing.

Comment: to: Close_Nerd_Girl] You know, MJ's initial nose job was based on a broken nose. The plastic surgeon did such a good job, we didn't notice.

Comment: AMEN CNG!! I thought about some plastic surgery but couldn't figure out what to get done and then thought about the features of my immediate family. It took me years to find the family member I most resembled and to change my looks now - in the infamous words of Whitney 'hell to the naw'! Big butt dark skin medium lips bedroom eyes - child if that ain't Gods greatest creation!!!

Comment: All those yrs MJ was seen going around with surgical masks and most of us weren't able to connect the dots as to what he was doing though we saw him change right in front of our eyes over the yrs, amazing. The thing I always wonder about with these current stars is the amount of healing time the skin and body needs to heal and how we don't see these stars for a while and then they come back new and improved. Something to think about. For the ones addicted to it that -ish has go to hurt even with painkilling drugs.

Comment: I've never understood why you'd go thru that unbearable pain (and you can tell they're in pain) for a few years of vanity? I remember that joke about God telling this women he'd let the Angel of Death pass over her but a couple of years later she got run over by a car and asked God why he didn't spare her and God said he didn't recognize her.

Comment: How odd! We're busy trying to look like them, while they are busy trying to look like us! My vote is PS only if you need it to improve a disfigurement. I can understand wanting to trim down a HUGE nose but taking it to an extreme is just plain nonsense!
