Comment: What makes anyone think the hatred starts and ends with the grandfather? Redneck relatives are par for the course. When you date white, you go into a sort of social exile. There are certain converstions you will not have regarding race. There are certian social situations where the dynamic will be changed as a result of your white partner. There will be certain conversations you can't have with your partner simply because they will not understand. Since we are raise in this racist society, some of the internalized and unconscious racism is going to emerge. If you date white at least be clear about the trade offs that will be made.

Comment: Perhaps you don't quite have the 'fever' yet. Interestingly, I would like to see a survey/article on the growing attraction/preference of white men for black women. I am finding an increasing interest desire of white men for black females, and because I am 'stepping out of the box' have and will continue to consider 'dating' while men.
