Comment: This is a phenomenon only in the south.

Comment: Right now it is but just like 2LiveCrew and their music- disease spreads. I pray that it doesn't move further than it has but our younguns look for new and bigger ways to shame themselves and hip hop and still we sit and wait to see how much lower they can go. It's up to us to stop this madness. FYI sampling new beats in a scrip club is another excuse not to respect each other because it encourages the continued operation of scrip clubs.

Comment: Thuny- What do you mean? Do you mean that strip clubs only exist in the South or do you mean that only people from the South endorse this?

Name: AquaBoogie
Comment: Smart idea to preview new music in the strip clubs; whatever it takes to get these artists more 'exposure'... WAUK WAUK!

Name: Priceless
Comment: well alrighty then

Comment: One word: pathetic

Comment: Strip clubs exist everywhere (the majority in the South), but people in the South see them as just another club..Everyone hangs out there for some reason. They throw birthday parties, anniversary parties, graduation parties etc., there...Sick, but true!

Comment: I watched this special on VH1 about the southern rappers (the ying yang twins were a part of it) and the rappers in the south think nothing of going to a scrip club with their music like it's a regular dance club. I hope and pray that east coast rappers continue to do it the way they do it now because we have scrip clubs but only those that need this kind of stimulation on a regular keep the seats filled. Now that rap has clearly connected to strip, what's next? Or do we really want to know?

Comment: >TJ, I believe your post explains what Thunny was referring to. Here in the ATL, strip clubs are "the norm." ATL is known for them, and more than a few are nationally known. Men come from all over the country to check them out. I think I read somewhere that ATL has more strip clubs per capita than any single city in the U.S.

Comment: Harriet, basically what I meant was that in the south many hiphop and R&B music producers and artists have their music played in strip clubs to see what the reaction will be -- from both the strippers and the audience. That reaction will tell an artist if his product will be a hit or if he has to go back to the drawing board. I've heard and read many southern artists say this. Of course there are strip clubs everywhere but at least here up north they're not being used to break new music.

Comment: TJ - Define EVERYONE because that's just not true. I'm assuming you mean men. I don't know too many women who think it's cool to hang out at strip clubs in Atlanta. And the reason why there are more strip clubs in Atlanta than probably anywhere else on the east coast is due to the leniency of the laws regarding what dancers can show/do, so they are also a tourist attraction for horny out-of-towners.

Comment: Thunny is correct on this one. Most Hip Hop artist say that they try their songs out in the Strip Clubs first. Or that they make songs for the Strip Clubs which eventually gets radio play after the Clubs make the song popular.

Name: Beezyuu
Comment: Hip Hop seem to be sinking fast. Why would anyone want to have their music associated with strip clubs. Oh yeah, I can answer that question myself.....Those Ignorance Azz Rappers.
