Comment: For him to be $200k in arrears, he wasn't paying for at least 10 years. While I think many times men get "the shaft" when it comes to child support, Breed obviously was given a lot of time to "step up" -- he had to be incarcerated. Most judges would've thrown the man in jail $150k ago. Breed was obviously given plenty of time to get a job, and pay something. In these cases (there are two), he wasn't paying support for either of his kids, an in instances like that, I have no sympathy for deadbeat dads.

Comment: Not an ounce of sympathy for a so-called man who won't handle his business. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.

Comment: No sympathy at all. Get a real job if your career is over. I broke out that CD a few weeks ago, and was wondering what happened to him. Now I know: Inmate C59752!

Comment: He should have had a real job in addition to whatever rap career cause for this amount there has to be a rack of kids. I hope the state is smart enough to allow him to get a job under the work release program because it makes no sense to punish him and the kids pay for it too!

Comment: I have never even heard of this dude. But now that I have - what an idiot! Men are so stupid. They really are! Act like they don't know where babies come from. Is it so much more awful w/a condom on? Was it worth it to go raw all them times? He should be sentenced to wearing a shirt that says "I don't know where babies come from" forever! Freakin' idiot! Jeez!

Comment: Poor Breed hasn't had a hit song since that collabo with Pac back in 1995! No wonder he's hurting. This is why there needs to be a Hiphop union with a pension fund for all those who have a career of a certain length.

Comment: Quuenie, how do you deduct that "men are so stupid" from reading this piece about one man? Does that also include the men in your family? I would argue that it is "stupid" for you to make such a sweeping generalization.
Is it right for me to say that all women are stupid idiots for this story:

Comment: My point here is this - you have all these men crying the blues about having to pay child support. You have men whining about gold diggers all the time. You have all these men who act like they don't know basic science and they whine and complain when they have to support what they created in the heat of the moment cuz their johnie was hard. And no, my dad didn't pay child support because he was in my home with me and my brothers and his father was in his home with him so he didn't have to worry about it either. They both married the mothers of their children as did both of my brothers and my uncles, too for that matter. But in general, these idiots we hear about constantly crying about child support - Diddy, Bobby Brown, Breed, etc. And then you have the ballers with like 968 children EACH and they act like they don't know that sex makes babies when sista girl comes around wanting Pamper and Similac money. So yeah, in this regard I am gonna sound like what I call a reverse chauvinist because that whole "I don't want to support the product of all of my f*cking" is PLAYED!!! I don't deny that women can do some serious assinine stuff, BUT men act like they bear no responsibility at all whatsoever and that is as old as Methusela!

Comment: No. I don't have kids or child support concerns. I will say this - this society coddles men to the point where they aren't really men, at least not Biblically. And women are forced to do more and more and men less and less and it's ridiculous. Men are applauded for taking care of their own kids, um, like women have ALWAYS done, plus support them and educate them and clothe them and encourage them. I look at society. I don't have a personal story of woe for you. Sorry. Like I said, my pops was at home and he's still in my life and just fixed my ceiling the other day and my boyfriend and I are good, too, so nah. My man handles things and has learned to be a man from his father very well. I just think that men are not held accountable in our society and get this - a lot of times it is women's fault because MOTHERS are the ones creating these monsters by not giving their sons responsibilities while overloading their daughters. It's like women know that their daughters can handle things so they overwhelm them and don't let their sons do anything. As a result, we have these boy-men who can't and won't do jack for themselves. Eat that food for thought...

Comment: All of this male bashing is absolutely shameful. One dude is a dead beat dad and then that "makes all guys" dead beats. Male bashing at its finest. And then nonetheless, it is done by black women? Some females relate there salty experiences as general grievances. It's just not fair.

Comment: Queeniebuns - There are plenty of daughters out there that are not being "raised" either. If they all were, we wouldn't have Gold diggas or Video Hos, or RKelly being able to pay off his victims' parents. We have a crisis in our society for both males and females. For every boy-man out there, theres a girl-woman willing to sell out her morals to get a rich baby daddy to take care of her or degrade herself by shakin that azz on stage or in a video.

Comment: I remember the song, but not the artist. There were so many "one hit rap artist" back in the late 80's early 90's that many of them are already forgotten or not remembered until a "child support issues" comes up or something else happens.

Comment: I agree with "Angel" and "Thunny", Queeniebunz. Your comments generalize men, even rappers. It's wrong to relate Puffy's situation to this one. In Puff's case, he was paying child support - his issue is, Justin's mother isn't spending $19k on Justin, but there's no system of "checks and balances" to determine where she spends the money. She works, and her husband works, and they have 2 other children. Puffy feels like he's supporting the entire family. In MC Breed's case, he wasn't paying child support for 2 kids, by 2 different women. He was paying nothing, that's why he has arrearages in one case of $200k and in the other case of nearly $100k. He's a deadbeat dad, Puffy isn't. As for other men, if your brother or uncle, etc... divorced his wife, and she received primary guardianship, he'd have to pay child support. Having babies while married, or having babies out-of-wedlock is no different in the halls of family court. Every situation is different, and should be looked upon individually -- not as a collective. By the way Queeniebunz, it's funny that you mention women are forced to do more and more. As I recall, women of yesterday (i.e., 1960's) rallied and fought to be able to do more; then along come women like you who're complaining that it's now too much. I will agree, there are a lot of adult males who don't know how to be men, but shouldn't the blame rest upon the shoulders of women who choose these types of adult males as partners? Just as men choose their women; you and other women are in the position to choose your man -- if he's a "good for nothing", you chose him, right? :-)

Comment: I agree with "Brandon" totally. There are alot men who do take care their children. Sometimes when they cut off the woman, she will then go to the courts granting child support when the child is like 10 or 14 yrs of age. So the courts then go back and make the father pay from the date of birth up to the present. At least in Michigan that helps. So we can't say just b/c he isn't paying child support he wasn't taking care of his children. Sometimes children suffer from bitter situations.
I agree also that he should go to a Work Requirement program while living in a half way house. That way he will be able to at least provide something for the kids. I mean I don't know what a yr in prison would do b/c he still won't be able to pay anything and then when he gets out he has to pay up for that time sitting not working. Breed made anything since Tupac and he was on a local radio station in Detroit for awhile until they gave him the ax. Unfortunately it is the kids that suffer.
As far as the subject about deadbeat dads, I am a female and I know many women who mess around plenty of times and got pregnant by someone who was a "good for nothing". But who made that choice. Those women. There are alot of women who constantly blame the men but had they not be so hot in the pants and stay more focus on choosing the appropriate mate, many black women in particular would not fall in this category.
You cannot compare his case to Puffy because Puffy takes care of his children from what I am assuming. The brotha just feel that he is being rob and used by the mother to take care of her husband and other kids. Hey, I don't blame him. A kid doesn't need that much in a month. That is a Jackpot. But again, it is all about choices. She was a golddigger and she only got the fashion consultant job by hanging in the industry connecting with folks around him. Again choices. Watch who u lay with b/c there are some consequences you will be stuck with for the rest of your life.
