Comment: Ain't that a b!tch. A MF kills folks in cold blood and writes a few children's books and is deemed worthy of a nomination, while Oprah has dedicated a huge amount of time and money toward many crises facing our world and doesn't get nominated?!? **SMH**

Comment: If she is to be awarded the nobel for humanitarianism (which she so richly deserves) it will obviously have to be through us. For Us By Us.

Comment: STEPHANIE...why dont you care for Oprah? and here is a general question to everybody: why do Black folks tend to judge whethe they like someone (they dont even know especially) based on personal matters instead of their work, accomplishments and things like that?
My point: Im curious to know why someone would not like a sistah like O who is clearly about doing wonderful things for people....

Comment: Come ON!!! Why should Oprah get a Nobel Prize or even be nominated???? Because she's rich??? Just about all rich people with any kind of conscience donate time and money to charitable causes. It's a great tax write-off. Also, in her case, it's good for her ratings. Get real. If she really wanted to do more for world peace, how about her not screaming the names of her guests at the top of her lungs.

Comment: No, VickiE, you're missing the whole point. She Spreads the love to mankind, not by word but by action. It ain't about a write-off with O, it's a personal mission. It's in her heart. What have you done lately??

Comment: well first of all, it doesnt take money to do what she does..it takes a willing heart. Bringing Black people
together to honor and appreciate them doesnt take a lot of money....recognizing, respecting and paying homage to those who paved the way for you doesnt take a lot of money...just the wareness you need to do it and that it should be done....
so many are consumed by the pursuit of fame and fortune that purpose and reason are thrown out the window
Oprah is lead and guided by integrity, mission, vision, goals and therefore the result is the fame, fortune and respect.....people respect Oprah for her work not her money...
If other folks with money would have done the same thing do you think all those folks would have shown up to the Legend's Ball? Nah.....
Oprah seeks to bless the world and contribute to society in a way that it will be a better place when
she leaves......that's her real wealth

Comment: I think Oprah is doing what the average cracker in America is doing and that is catering to those that make her filty rich and if it works for her, so be it. I think she does great things for mankind and all that but okay...I don't watch her show and I believe she's doing what it takes to make money and that's why she won't have people on her show like Minister Farrakhan, Sister Ava Muhammed but I bet if the Pope called and said he wanted to be a guest on her show, she'd wouldn't have a problem with it. She is what she is and to each is own.
