Comment: While I don't agree with every word or article Darryl writes I agree that he has a right to write it. I said yesterday that it's his point of view. I think today I'll go so far as to say that if you don't fit the description what's the fuss? I also don't agree that he just takes feminists to task as I've read all the articles he mentioned here and certainly there have been more days on the board that women have stomped on the brothers than not. In the end, it is his absolute right to think and then to print what he thinks and it's my absolute right to agree or disagree or read or not read but it's out of order to be disrespected on either side in the process.

Comment: I don't know about this one. I think there are points on both sides. I do think there is a difference between being strong and being angry and D sometimes strikes me as angry. In this piece definitely. It's funny though, for all the wrongs that have happened to women, at the hands of men, we certainly seem to handle it better and get over it. Men can hang on forever so they need an outlet.

Comment: I'd be careful with the use of word "feminazi". It is highly inflammatory. Other than JD, the only other media person that I've heard use the term on a regular basis is Rush Limbaugh. I would be very reluctant to adopt *any* term or phrase used by a loud mouth drug-addled covert racist like Rush. To truly solve the problems in our community we have to stop playing the blame game. It gets us no where.

Comment: The term "feminazi" was created by none other than our "favorite fat white druggy racist" Rush Limbaugh. Very curious as to why the 'brother' chooses to use that term? *scratching head*

Comment: Co sign HarrisThomas - on some things we have to agree to disagree because the point too often gets lost in the personal. Samo Samo I agree, I never heard the word before I read it in Darryl's column and since I don't waste electricity on rush limbaugh it was indeed a foreign word. We need to be careful picking up derogatory terms for what a woman has had to be for so very long.

Comment: Thank you, My2 pennies. I actually got it from Dr. Laura, whom I respect a great deal. I don’t listen to Rush at all. And, I only use the term for feminist extremists who are dogmatic and anti-male. They are sexist towards men.

Comment: You know, today all sorts of photos from Oprahs Legends Ball are circulating and I couldn't help but think- why are none of the black male celebrity doing something similar for men. There are plenty of them to create such an opportunity honoring black men and giving them a space to shop their own agendas. We will not be united in everything (and I don't see this piece as uniting anyone) so I think something like that could be right on time.

Comment: I was busy the last few days and couldn't add my little opinion to the Tuesday article. I agree with Darryl a-s-s-e-s-sment unfortunately this is a real hot bed issue and many people do not really read the article before they go on the attack. The comments I saw in the past few days shows how many of us are really hurting and how poor some experiences are. But again it is all based on experience for example there was someone talking about how sorry black men were and I felt so sad for the comments. I honestly do not know any sorry black men. Heck no one is perfect but ALL of the men I know take care of their families, some go so far as to mentor other people's children, they are interesting, hard working and respectful and that includes my late father and my wonderful brother, that includes ex-boyfriends, my current man etc. As far as personalities some may be more opinionated than others, some I may not agree with the total philosophy of their lives but sorry NOT EVER. Then again perhaps I have been lucky in my 45 years of living, or perhaps if I did notice a man who was not up to my standards I moved on, and felt that was just him, not every black man on earth. Funny some of the litany of funky attributes a-s-s-igned just to men are the same things some women do. We are never going to get together if such bitterness abounds, and certainly not stereotypes, and painting all men or women with the same nasty brush.

Comment: SweetieDarlin I wondered if there were another woman that recognized that the same thing we complain about can be said about women. I didn't weigh in on either side because I see both sides I'm just not an extremist. In my life I know more good and upstanding men than dogs and ne'er do wells and I know just as many good women as I do the triflin' ones. We need to stop pointing fingers like the other sex needs more work than we do and if we're gonna talk, let's talk but all this back and forth rhetoric only creates more bitter folk and it accomplishes nothing. We just keep feeding the war of the sexes.
