BLIND ITEM #1 by Sin-Q
Hollywood turned this black actor out; he got caught up, big time. When he first arrived in Tinsel Town, he was modest and decent. After a few hit films, he became arrogant and physically abusive towards women. One of his ex-girlfriends gave him a birthday party, during the course of the party, she lost track of him; she found him engaged in a compromising position in a back room with a male guest. He didn’t offer up an excuse, instead, he stood up, walked towards her and slapped her. They would soon break up after this incident. His physical abuse would escalate to the point, his advisors convinced him to put money aside from each check to cover the hospital expenses of his ‘future’ battered victims.
BLIND ITEM #2 by Algiers
This soul legend remarried and his new wife doesn’t like blended families. She wants him to divorce his kids. She has talked him out of spending the holidays with his kids, he no longer calls them for their birthday nor does he give them gifts. She also talked him into taking back the cars he had given them before he met her. And now, she is trying to talk him into dissolving their trust funds. Hint: He is a crooner

Comment: For those of you who watched Windfall last night, would you have shared your money with the girl who claimed she was the owner of the uncounted for dollar????? Even though you knew she was lying??? Because everyone with the exception of 2 people (the young guy at the store and the pizza delivery woman) had their name on the list, the girl didn't put her name on the list. What would you have done in that situation?????

How was this chick able to sue for a portion of the jackpot? I'm confused because I remember on the first episode when the black chick signed the list while delivering pizza...

She had a judge to freeze the black girls money and was going to have all the other winner's money frozen. Luke Perry's character called a meeting of all the winner's and came up with a solution so no one would have to pay their lawyers and that cow could get 19 million.....she's short 1 mil. because the missing girl didn't contribute.

Comment: Tattoo customers in 3 states get infections
ATLANTA - A worrisome superbug seen in prisoners and athletes is also showing up in people who get illegal tattoos, federal health officials said Thursday.
Forty-four tattoo customers in Ohio, Kentucky and Vermont developed skin infections caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The infections occurred in 2004 and 2005, and were traced to 13 unlicensed tattoo artists, according to an article in the CDC's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.
These are the first documented cases if tattoo-related MRSA infections, said Dr. Mysheika LeMaile-Williams, a CDC infectious disease investigator who co-authored the report.
MRSA is an antibiotic-resistant bacteria that fights off the body's immune system and destroys tissues. The community-associated variety, seen in the tattoo infections, has been diagnosed in otherwise healthy athletes, military recruits and prison inmates.
The skin infections can be transmitted from person to person by contact with draining sores, or through contact with contaminated items or surfaces. MRSA generally causes mild skin infections, but in some cases has led to pneumonia, bloodstream infections, and a painful, flesh-destroying condition called necrotizing fasciitis.
Clusters of MRSA cases were seen in Ohio in June 2004, November 2004 and April 2005, involving 33 people. A four-person cluster was reported in Kentucky in May 2005 and a seven-person cluster was in Vermont in August.
Four of the patients were hospitalized, but all recovered, LeMaile-Williams said.
Ohio, Kentucky and Vermont require licensing for tattoo artists, but all the affected customers went to unlicensed artists. Instead of doing the work in tattoo parlors, the body art was done in the homes of the tattooists or the recipients, or even in public places such as a park.
The tattooists sometimes did not use masks or gloves, did not properly disinfect skin and did not properly clean the equipment. One Ohio tattooist used a homemade tattoo gun made from a computer ink-jet cartridge and guitar strings, LeMaile-Williams said.
Three of the Ohio tattooists had recently been jailed, she said.
Customers sometimes seek out unlicensed tattooists because their services are less expensive, or because they are younger than 18 and cannot go to a licensed tattooist without parental consent, she said.
Several of the infected patients were under 18, she added.
The tattoo cases are not surprising, said Dr. Kate Heilpern, an Atlanta emergency room physician and Emory University researcher who has studied MRSA.
The superbug is appearing in locker rooms, homes and many other unsterile places where people are in skin-to-skin contact.
"We are still riding a big wave of this bacterial infection and I really don't see any end in sight," she said.

Comment: Maggots on menu nauseate Juvenile Justice
A Homestead food vendor was fired from a juvenile facility after some of its offerings featured maggots, and investigations continued.
Lunch at Thompson Academy, a youth camp for delinquents in Broward County, recently featured some unexpected cuisine: maggots.
One teenager decided he didn't like the extra protein on his green beans and complained to his parents.
The parents complained to Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County, which then complained to the state's child-abuse hot line. The Broward Sheriff's Office investigated.
The results: Police with pictures of maggots in the food. The food vendor summarily fired. And the state Department of Juvenile Justice, responsible for overseeing the camp, ``horrified.'
'We are outraged and horrified at the quality of food served to youth at Thompson Academy,' said department spokeswoman Cynthia Lorenzo. ``DJJ does not tolerate such improper service to youth in our care.'
Lorenzo said the department is still looking into what happened at the Broward youth camp, and administrators have been put 'on alert' about concerns over food quality at other programs for delinquent youths. The department also is investigating how the incident was handled by the Thompson Academy staff, chief Assistant General Counsel Brian Berkowitz wrote to Legal Aid this week.
The food at the youth camp remains under investigation by the BSO as well, said agency spokesman Hugh Graf, who declined to discuss the case.
On June 15, lawyers at Legal Aid got a call from a parent of a boy detained at Thompson, complaining that children had been served green beans with maggots in them for lunch on June 13. On June 16, attorneys faxed a report to the Department of Children & Families' abuse hot line, alleging the spoiled food constituted child neglect.
Michelle Hankey, a Legal Aid attorney, said in a letter to Juvenile Justice that children also had complained about unspecified 'bugs' in their food, that food had been served 'spoiled,' and that it 'did not taste `right' being served.'
'What is most disturbing about the initial results of this pending investigation is that on the date the food containing numerous maggots was served, the staff at the facility did not make any arrangements for an alternate meal to be served to the children,' Hankey wrote.
'The children were told to eat the other items on their tray besides the beans or forgo lunch if they could not bring themselves to eat anything on the tray,' Hankey added.

I called my Dr. and explained the situation, he suggested that I take a pregnancy test even though I told him there was no way in this world I could be pregnant. It came back negative, so he said that it could be stress related. Bigheadbull, I have to admit I am heavy, but never had problems w/my cycle. HOW TO HANDLE HATERS
A hater is someone that is jealous and envious of you and spends all their time trying to make you look small so they can look tall.
When you make your mark, you will always attract some haters... That's why you have to be careful who you share your blessings and your dreams with because some folk can't handle seeing you blessed.........
It's dangerous to be like somebody else... If God wanted you to be like somebody else, He would have given you what he gave them.
You don't know what people have gone through to get what they have...(The problem I have with haters is that they see my glory, but they don't know my story...) If the grass looks greener on the other side of the fence,
you can rest assure that the water bill is higher there too.
We've all got some haters among us, and some people don't like it that You can:
Come to church
Get your praise on
Shout in the aisle
Dance in the pew
Enter His gates with praise
Bless His Holy Name
Haters don't want to see you
happy
Haters don't want to see you
succeed
Haters don't want you to get the
victory
Most of our haters are people that are supposed to be on our side. How do you handle the haters who you least expect to have your guard up against?
You can handle your haters by:
1. Knowing who you are and Whose
you are
2. Having a purpose
3. By remembering what you have is
by Divine prerogative and not
human manipulation.
Purpose does not mean having a job. You can have a job and still be unfulfilled.
A purpose is having a clear sense of what God has called you to be.
Your purpose is not defined by what others think about you. You will always Be trying to get stuff because the more stuff you have will improve what Others think about you, but what others think will last
as long as the stuff lasts.
Favor can get you the following things.
Car you dreamed about
Job you applied for and weren't
qualified to get
House you did not deserve
When God gives you favor, you can tell your haters, "Don't look at me...
Look at Who is in charge of me...Instead of hating on me, you need to Understand that what I have, I did not earn it... I can not afford it...
I don't have the education for it... God Blessed me with all of it!
Remember, it isn't about you, but it's all about God.

Comment: LIKE WATCHING A CAR WRECK: Strahan's a peeping Mike: wife
BY AUSTIN FENNER and DAVE GOLDINER
DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITERS
Friday, June 23rd, 2006
The Strahan vs. Strahan divorce case took another bizarre turn yesterday as the Giants sack king's estranged wife charged he once used a hidden camera to peep on her sister, according to court papers.
Jean Strahan claimed that Michael Strahan used the camera, hidden in a clock radio, to capture her sister "in various stages of undress," when the Strahans were dating in 1997.
"[He used] a hidden camera in a clock radio that he gave her and virtually insisted that she keep in the bedroom where she slept," Jean Strahan, 41, said in a sworn affidavit.
The Peeping Mike accusation emerged as the soon-to-be-former couple continued to feud over their bad-blood breakup.
She is demanding he cough up about $14 million, but he insists she should only get about $7 million.
Jean Strahan dropped a bombshell by claiming Strahan pursued an "alternative lifestyle" with married TV doctor Ian Smith after the couple broke up.
But she later claimed she didn't mean to hint they were gay - just serial cheaters.
Buried amid hundreds of pages of mundane claims and counterclaims in their divorce case is the explosive allegation that Michael once tried to spy on Jean Strahan's sister when she came to visit.

Comment: From Osama to Soaps
Sudanese-born novelist/poet Kola Boof witnessed the murder of her parents, was vaginally circumcised, and says she was raped and forced into sexual servitude by Osama bin Laden, who she describes as a cross between "Hitler and Ike Turner." Now she's creating the kind of fictional drama that she's been living. She's writing for the NBC soap Days of Our Lives.

Comment: Claydes C. Smith, Jazz Guitarist, Is Dead at 57
Sign In to E-Mail This Print Reprints Save
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Published: June 23, 2006
LOS ANGELES, June 22 (AP) — Claydes Charles Smith, a founder and the lead guitarist of the group Kool and the Gang, died on Tuesday in Maplewood, N.J. He was 57.
He died after a long illness, said his publicist, David Brokaw, who said he did not know the cause.
Kool and the Gang grew from jazz roots in the 1960's to become a major success in the 1970's, blending jazz, funk, R&B and pop. After a downturn, the group enjoyed a return to stardom in the 80's.
Mr. Smith, who was known as Charles Smith, wrote the hits "Joanna" and "Take My Heart" and was a co-writer of others, including "Celebration," "Hollywood Swinging" and "Jungle Boogie."
Born on Sept. 6, 1948, in Jersey City, he was introduced to jazz guitar by his father in the early 1960's. Later in that decade he was in a group of New Jersey jazz musicians including Ronald Bell (later Khalis Bayyan); Robert Bell, known as Kool; George Brown; Dennis Thomas; and Robert Mickens, called Spike, all of whom became Kool and the Gang. Other members would include the lead singer James (J. T.) Taylor.
Illness forced Mr. Smith to stop touring with the group in January.
He is survived by his children, Claydes A. Smith, Justin Smith, Aaron Corbin, August Williams, Uranus Guray and Tyteen Humes, and by nine grandchildren.

Comment: NBA star James invests in housing project By CONNIE MABIN, Associated Press Writer
Wed Jun 21, 9:01 PM ET
LeBron James traded his basketball jersey for a gray business suit and white hard hat as he announced his involvement in a $4.7 million housing development in one of the city's roughest neighborhoods.
The Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star and three friends who formed LRMR Development LLC, are among the investors in the 18-unit project that will feature two- and three-bedroom, 2,000-square-foot townhouses expected to sell for $265,000 to $325,000 each.
"We're very excited about refurbishing and bringing great things to what we call the 'hood. Everybody else may call it the city but we call it the 'hood," James said to cheers at a symbolic groundbreaking for the project. "That's where we grew up at and we never ever had an opportunity like this."
WHO CAN AFFORD THEM? AND WHO ARE HIS THREE FRIENDS AND WHERE DID THEY GET THE KINDA PAPER NEEDED TO GO IN?

There are a ZILLION forms of birth control out there nowadays. People make it more difficult than it really is.

Comment: Well, I dunno if this is gonna start a debate but I'm NOT pro-choice. I just think it's selfish to get rid of a baby just because you were too irresponsible to use birth control, JMO. Babies are blessings, not mistakes. No, I ain't one of those people that goes marching in front of Planned Parenthood with pictures of babies that have been aborted, I just think it's wrong. A friend of mine had 2 abortions and she's married! I asked her why she did it and she said cuz she "ain't ready for a baby right now". She said this both times! When I ask her why won't she just use birth control, she said she "can't swallow the pill" WTF??? Okay, so you can't swallow a microscopic pill, then use the other forms of birth control, there are PLENTY to choose from! And one of the abortions she got, her husband didn't even know! That just don't make sense to me.

I do everything in my power to make sure no babies come my way, I don't even hold other people's babies or touch pregnant women b/c the sh!t might be contagious. But if I got pregnant right now today I can't say I wouldn't abort b/c I would be on total suicide watch. Either me or me and the baby would have to go. The baby ain't here so they would be first in line. But I do understand your POV.

Comment: >ylawd, most b/c is close to 100% effective, except for the condom. I just think that if you're laying up with someone and you're using a form of b/c that's NOT close to 100% effective, then you should always have in the back of your mind that there may be a chance that I'm gonna get pregnant. IMO, sex shouldn't be taken lightly because if you DO happen to get pregnant, do you wanna deal with that person for the rest of your life? Are you prepared mentally to bring a life into this world? I think that now that I'm older, I just look at things a lot differently. I got pregnant with my daughter when I was 18 after I graduated from high school and I had her when I was 19 and NO it wasn't planned. Me & her father (my husband now), didn't even think about abortion because even tho we were young, we knew what we were getting into and we loved each other. My son I had at 24 and he WAS planned because we were in a better position in life and we didn't want her to be the only child. I'm not judging anyone or putting anyone down cuz Lord knows I sho' ain't claiming to be perfect by ANY means! I've had my share of ef ups, but when it comes to bringing a life into this world, I think that's serious and too many people take it lightly IMO.
