Comment: Desire Coleman Jackson can really sing. I saw her in a play called "Mama I Want To Sing" about 22 years ago. It was awesome!!! I believe Tony Terry was in it also. She is also the wife of retired basketball player and now commentator Mark Jackson. Too bad I don't live in Los Angeles. I would love to see the play.

Comment: not to be shady about desiree, but "broadway sensation"....that's pr spin.
Mama I want to sing wasn't even on OFF broadway.
It was at the Hecksher Theatre on 109th (I believe)
To my knowlede.. she NEVER stared in any broadway productions.
She went from "Mama" to Patti Labelle protege to Mrs. Jackson. all in about 4 years

Comment: Desiree Coleman is ex Mrs.Jackson. Her husband divorced her. Motown droped her cause she didnt sale in the 80's. If it wasn't for her husband being in the NBA she wouldn't get recognition at all. She def knows how to use his fame for her dreams...!!
She has a voice but no star quality.. She need 2give it a break already. Shes 38 with 4kids...!!!

Comment: Dez has an amazing voice!! She is also a beautiful person inside as well as out. Also Mark has not divorced her! They are still happily married with 3 (not 4!) children.
