Comment: I'm no fan of either, but I always had the feeling Jamie was getting too big for his britches! "Head-swell" will kill an A/A actor. Since they're both "jacked" in the looks department, if they were to "scrap", it would be hard to tell who got knotted up.

Name: TJthemilitant
Comment: LMAO!!!!!..Yeah both them nuccas need to sit their corny azzes down!..Oh Nightshift for the record, Kanye got the knottiest head!..When he was walking to the stage it looked like he had a slab of ribs growing out of the back of his head!..LMAO!!!

Name: shakaz0117
Comment: nightshift....you are a mess. But I agree with you.

Name: robijoa
Comment: There is no comparison of the two. Jamie could go on tour to do stand up or sing. Jamie is also a versatile actor as well and has the golden trophy to prove. Kanye has always been overrated and his ego can't match his "for the moment" success.

Name: andryce76
Comment: damn kanye was prob joking he ain't crazy he know jamiee foxx is a real artist jamiee just prob took it to seriously. and as for kanye having an ego prob jamiee %*$ got one just as big. look at all the new friends he has now would these new celeb friends have given him the time of day when he was on the jamie foxx show? he needs to act like he did before the academy award. i mean look at it this way what has he done since ray? let him %*$! up in any way we gon see how fast tom cruise and the rest get away from him.

Name: bigchassie
Comment: yeah,i read this before. both guys got big egos. but i still love and admire their talents and yeah, they need to chill with the silly childish foolishness. i'm curious, though yall, can somebody tell me did they win a grammy award for Golddigger?

Name: 6chica9
Comment: Kanye teddy face.. hehe.. well ya he's let his ego get to him.. im sure he spoke without thinking first n maybe didnt mean to insult Jamie.. well Jamie did a great Job on Ray... butt it should be illegal for that man to make another album arrgh that was toture to try and listen to all the way through!

Name: alexander1906
Comment: Both of them needs to Cool it and get a taste of Humble Pie. Jamie Fox needs to realize that one Academy Award does not make you a great actor. It is the stuff you put out after that counts. In Jamie's case he need to start putting out quality stuff because I am hearing that Miami Vice is a stinker.

Name: bigchassie
Comment: ALEXANDER>i agree with you. i remember Actress Faye Dunnaway saying you are only as good as your next picture. which means you got to really hustle your craft to stay on top. Jamie is a wonderful actor and he is on my list of my favorites, but Ray was only one great movie he gotten an award for. the rest has been flops. it's time for him to come on with it and it's probally not him, it's the movies that he is in. the scripts stunk to high heaven (Stelth and Jarhead) now, i also read that Miami Vice was not a good movie but i'm going to draw my own opinion on that when i see it on the 28th of this month. but why do i get the feeling Dreamgirls is really going to be the movie where he can redeem himself? but all i know that Oscar is old now, time to get another one Jamiesweets!

Name: chocolattechile
Comment: Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Stop playing, I thought they were tight! When egos collide!!!

Name: Gemami
Comment: This is too childish too me. As someone said Kayne was just joking, in likeliness. Yes, Kayne's arrogrant, but I don't think he means any real harm. I can't believe Jamie got his panties in a bunch over something as stupid as this.

Name: thechocolate10
Comment: they both got the big head Bigchassie> i thought they won for golddigger but i am not sure

Name: ladybyrd
Comment: To me, Jamie's behavior was questionable for the BET Awards and also MTV Awards. I thought he was drunk or on drugs, because brotha' was acting as if he was high as the sky.

Name: ladybyrd
Comment: robijoa >... And Kanye can write or produce, which is what he was known for at The ROC and before.

Name: bigchassie
Comment: 6CHICA>UNPREDICTABLE was an okay album. it had some nice pieces on there. i think the drawback was that it had too many rappers on there. you heard them more than you did Jamie. secondly, Jamie should have been on that piano more too. to me his first CD PEEP THIS was the better one. every song on there was an absoulte hit and all you heard was Jamie and the Piano and it was just a beautiful album/CD. it just wasn't marketed right.

Name: blackdiamondleo
Comment: Sad that two talented collaborators who've had such great success, have to end their relationship on a sour note. They could go on and make more good music together. Man, EGOS always have to pop up their ugly heads. JAMIE has been throwing his weight around since his oscar win and my man KANYE, what can I say? he's just bugging! ha, ha

Name: coesmo
Comment: I agree with a few of you on the boards that say they both are arrogant...their 15 minutes will be up soon..

Name: bigchassie
Comment: THECHOCOLATE10>yep, you are absoultly right. i was wondering if they won for Golddigger. LADYBYRD> You mean when he was on stage singing he was acting like he was drunk? humm. maybe Fanny slipped him a mickey when they were exchanging saliva. dayum! that kiss was potent! sheyatt! i know Jamie is a playa but that man looks like he lay some serious kissing on you! LOL! i ain't gonna lie! i confess! i wish that was me on that stage kissing him! sheyatt!! lol! cuse me yall! lol!

Name: bigchassie
Comment: you know, i sit here and think...what would it be like to be famous? you win an Oscar, you get golden globe awards, BET awards, every award they can throw at you. you are showered with accolades, people adore you, calling your name every which way, folks calling you Mr or Miss so in so would you like....the red carpet is your pathway. you get boo coo money, fine cars, a mansion, designer clothes, fine luxury hotels, travel everywhere.....all of this! and you wonder to yourself....can you stay humble and grounded? if you are really true to yourself, can you really stay that way? do you think guys like Jamie and Kanye are too caught up in themselves they have become lost in the swirl of being famous?

Name: caramelpoetry
Comment: Two big head brothers trying to out do each other- they need to stop, sounds worse than two women. They both are very talented and both have it going on, but my Grandmother always said, "there is a lot of truth in jokes". So if this man was playing, maybe he did mean half of what he said. Anyway try to be friends and both continue making that money. Hollywood has them on blast and they make black men look stupid with this girlish bickering back and forth--cut it out men! You disappoint me!

Name: thechocolate10
Comment: Bigchas> so Fanny slipped him a mickey HUH LOL if there's a fight I got my money on Jamie! and he could crack jokes on Kanye all day long

Name: ladybyrd
Comment: bigchassie > Unfortunately "Peep This" did not get the critical acclaim that "Unpredictable" received.

Name: eastsideAR
Comment: JAMIE FOXX......I'm going to tell you people why he did so well with Ray. One, he's a comedian. He can imitate just about anyone. Two, he has a descent voice so it wasn't hard for him to capture the notes on Ray's songs. With those two put together it made it very easy for him to bring Ray to life on the big screen. Think about it....The Jamie Foxx Show, Bootycall. He's average at best, just got the role of a lifetime. The only other descent film he did was Redemption. Overrated, I say the least.

Name: bigchassie
Comment: THECHOCOLATE10>LOL! i know that's right! or just hit Kanye upside the head. i wonder, how old is Kanye? i think Jamie is older than him. i know Jamie is 38. why do i get this feeling that Kanye is younger than Jamie?

Name: Thunny
Comment: Let's be honest. If it wasn't for Kanye putting Jamie on the Slow Jamz song, the no one would really be checking for Jamie like this as far as his singing goes. It's no coincidence that Jamie had been trying to get his music to pop off for years and years, only getting mild success. But as soon as he was on the Kanye record, his stock as a singer soared and all of a sudden he was in high demand as a singer. That's due to Kanye and no one else. So make no mistake -- the episode at the Grammy's only came about because they were performing Kanye's song, not Jamie's. Same thing at the BET Awards - the song awarded was a Kane song "featuring" Jamie, not vice versa. In my opinion Jamie shouldn't have even been on stage to accept the award for Kanye's song off Kanye's Grammy winning album.

Name: Thunny
Comment: Big Chass, Kanye is like 10 years younger than Jamie. He was born in 78 so that makes him 28.

Name: bigchassie
Comment: EASTSIDE>Yeah i saw Redemption. he worked that movie. i think what it is and this is with any good actor too. it's the movie script itself. a good actor can only do so much if the script is not a good one, but something clicks when both the actor and script is good. such in the case of Ray and Redemption. and then you get good actors that be in movies that sucks so bad, they are just in it to make them some change and you know they gonna make them some change cause the audience don't really care about the movie, they want to see the star. case in point: last year when Stelph came out, i went to the movie to see it, because i wanted to see Jamie. That movie stunk! and i was %*$!ed off! Jamie did a good job in it but they killed him off in the middle of the dayum movie. i was the only one sitting in that whole theatre. but i just find it kind of interesting that actors who win academy awards turn around and be in bad pictures. but then again, it happens that way. you be in picture after picture after picture then you luck out and be in a picture that turns out to be pretty good (tom hanks-Philadelphia, Forrest Gump, Denzel Washington-Glory, Training Day, Hurricane) it be like that sometimes.

Name: bigchassie
Comment: THUNNY>you are right sweetie. I like Kanye West. he is a brilliant artist. You know i thought he was younger than Jamie. 28? ooh, he is still a baby and the man is ahead of his time too. he has just scratched the surface. Thunny, that Slow Jamz song, i have never heard it. does it has the kind of sound the way Midnight starr did it? I think Jamie needs to stay behind that piano and play. i think that is his strong area as far as music performance is conserned. he may have sold 2 million but he still has a long way to go. Kanye helped put him on the map but it's up to Jamie to go to next level.

Name: DCGG
Comment: lmao this shyt is funny...two pathetic, egotistical, ugly bastards having a pissing contest...okay which one got an album/movie/ring tone coming out?

Name: bigchassie
Comment: LADYBYRD>yep, you are right. and PEEP THIS was a wonderful CD. every song was a hit. i play that CD to death (heyell yeah, cause it's the most expensive CD i have in my collection. payed over 55.00 for that CD!) remember on, i think it was EBay, they were selling it for 200.00! (wonder did Jamie know about that?) too bad it's out of print. if Jamie remarket that CD I bet he would make a killing!

Name: Thunny
Comment: Chassie, Slow Jamz was both the lead single for Twista's Kamikaze album and the second single for Kanye's College Dropout album. Jamie's singing on the hook about "Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross, a little Anita..." right before one of Kanye's sped up samples is played. It was a big hit and the reason why Jamie's music career was resuscitated.

Name: JaysGame
Comment: TJ I'm with you, someone should have got a fan for both of their egos. They are both getting lost in the hype and will learn valuable lessons because they are both not that great to begin with. They both needed fans that night.

Name: musbdherbs
Comment: I think Jamie's newlyfound props on the R&B scale has to do more w/Ray than w/Kanye.

Name: Thunny
Comment: I don't know, Herbs. It's a no-brainer that Ray definitely gave his music career a boost, but Kanye has that golden touch and I think by Jamie performing on Kanye records at a point when Kanye was bubbling and Jamie acting profile was getting higher and higher, it was no doubt a combination of the two. But I wonder if Jamie had not been on those Kanye songs, would all these other rappers and singers be trying to collaborate with him only because of Ray? On previous musical efforts from Jamie, I can't remember one single rapper trying to get down with Jamie on a song.

Name: ladybyrd
Comment: musbdherbs > I must disagree with you a bit. Thunny is correct on this! Jamie's no fool, he did right by getting with Kanye West who is as they say "Hotter than Fish Grease"! The fact that Jamie pulled off "Ray" didn't mean that he could deliver a Platinum CD. And it was Kanye who made sure that he did.

Name: somethingclever
Comment: I'm not a huge Jamie Foxx fan, but I respect his talent and don't think you all are giving him his just due. Everybody keeps mention "Ray" and how he needs more Oscar worthy performances before he gets an ego. I just want to remind you all that during those very same awards that he won best actor, he was also nominated for best supporting actor for his role in "Collateral." To go back further, he had critical acclaim and won some awards for his role in "Redemption" and before that he did an incredible job in "Ali." So let's cut him a little slack, he definitely has some acting chops, but he just possibly may have met his match in the battle of the him-divas.

Name: Priceless
Comment: and they say women can't get along ... both of them are ego maniacs so this does not surprise me

Name: bigchassie
Comment: THUNNY>thanks for that info, i'm gonna find that CD. LADYBYRD> yeah, Kanye has it going on. i love that Late Registration. but now it's time for Jamie to find his own unique sound. and all i know is that it has to be with him and that piano.

Name: bigchassie
Comment: SOMETHINGCLEVER>Jamie is a brilliant actor and some of his performances were wonderful. he worked collateral (Tom Cruise did too) and Remption. and he already has an ego. (most Sag men have big egos anyway) i think that goes with the territoiry, but sometimes egos get a bit too much and ain't nothing like some good humble pie to bring them back down to earth.

Name: Victornator
Comment: Ohhh...So now Kanye will not be invited over to Jamie's place to play nude basketball with the fellas.

Name: thechocolate10
Comment: i think they just two talent brothers that got big heads right now how bout they colob together and made a great hit dang i like that song by jamie ITS YOUR FAULT BIG CHASSIE

Name: Priceless
Comment: musb, I think Ray and hooking up with Kayne have helped Jamie's career, but the article did say that Jamie was the only artist that could get a Ray song cleared for sampling and that hook makes the song to me

Name: bigchassie
Comment: PRICE>yeah, that song Golddigger had kick. great song for the summer of last year. i still groove to it. THECHOCOLATE10> *inocent expression* why? what did i do, chocolate? *grinning and batting eyes*

Name: bigchassie
Comment: VICTORMATOR>Oooh! bad Victor! lol!

Name: VickiE
Comment: I was surprised Jamie got the Academy Award for some else's life story. A monkey could have (and since Jamie looks so much like one, I guess it did) played Ray Charles and gotten nominated at the very least. The story was what won the award. BTW, who told Jamie he could sing? He's so bad it's embarrassing. Kanye and his WWF style self-promotion will continue to shoot himself in the foot.

Name: bigchassie
Comment: THECHOCOLATE10>YOU GOT "TRINI'S TOY??" ON YOU RIGHT NOW??

Name: realuvbaby
Comment: Thunny, you speak with authority and credibility and I agree with your take on the matter. Personally, I think Jamie is overrated on both fronts. I thought he nailed Ray, however, he's no Sidney Poitier. Musically, while I was listening to Unpredictable, I thought he was a trying to be Baby/Mini R. Kelly and it didn't work for me. The best thing about Unpredictable was the Wildflower hook. Yes, he's funny, but the humor hasn't yet crossed over well to the music and the movies.

Name: musbdherbs
Comment: Thun..I agree w/u about Kanye's influence on Jamie's music career. I was moreso talking about IF Jamie hadn't done "Ray" there would no collabo w/Kanye...if that makes sense. In short, w/o Ray his music career would've still been marginal at best. I think he has a nice voice..he just needs to learn how to balance his wanna-be-hip-hop/r&b croonin. If the BET performance is any indication...the scales are leanin like Pisa

Name: sigmascribe
Comment: I ain't foolin with neither of these neegroes or their egoes!!! I have plenty of coworkers that I tiff with.

Name: musbdherbs
Comment: BTW...Jamie REALLY is a good actor. If you think about his overall range..he's really in a category of very few.

Name: AlwaysaDem
Comment: oooh - victor - LMBAO - speak on it!!

Name: bigchassie
Comment: MUSTB>now i definitely agree with you on that. Jamie has a wonderful voice. i think it's strictly R&B though and really, he is better behind that piano. his performance on BET (minus the kiss that should have been mine!lol) was really mediocure. he is better singing a nice ballad playing the piano. i was observing his performance on one of his stand up show where after he does his jokes, he gets on the piano and gives a mini concert, he has the audience in his hands. and he does a wonderful job doing that. but with him singing on the stage it's like he is trying too hard to entertain and it comes out like he is overdoing it.

Name: ladybyrd
Comment: bigchassie > I agree that Jaime should utilize this momentum and put down his sound and Yes, use his skills with the piano. Because that brotha' can sing. I love the fact that Alicia put her piano in the mix, Baby Face used to put his guitar in the mix and I love it!

Name: ladybyrd
Comment: VickE> "A monkey could have played Ray Charles?" Really????... Do you really believe that or is your statement to get a rise??

Name: bigchassie
Comment: LADYBYRD>i know that's right and Jamie can do the same thing. i remember him saying when he was doing that "spring bling" on BET that eventhough this is his second CD he is still a rookie in the music game so he has a long way to go. so i think he understands he needs to find his own sound in music. but it's in his pianoplaying. like Ray Charles told him, I'ts right there in your fingers.

Name: Thunny
Comment: Here's my question - what took Jamie so long to develop his acting skills, which up until recently (the last couple of years) was nominal at best? Booty Call, Bait, Players Club, Breakin All the Rules, the Jamie Foxx Show -- all of these were pretty much terrible, formulaic endeavors. Even his stand up material wasn't all that funny. Then he gets Collateral then Ray and next thing you know he's the most talented actor on earth. Gotta love that Hollywood machine! He did very well in Ray, no doubt about that, but I haven't been impressed with anything else since Wanda.

Name: kbig
Comment: Victornator- that was a hilarious comment about the nude basketball with the fellas. Classic. Personally, I don't think these two are feuding. They have too much to gain from each other if they continue to network. Kanye has the sales over Jamie in the record biz and Jamie has the Hollywood entree hands down that Kanye doesn't have. Personally, I have met Kanye, no bodyguards, no nothin' and he was a down to earth person and this was a year ago. However, I think they've both lost a little sight of who their audience is. Kanye is more concerned with ego as related to the media (who have been really easy on him, so I don't get that part) and Jamie is playing to the Hollywood elite freaks: 'look at me, I'm a horny geechie from Texas and I have an Oscar and I will fiznuck you down." Oh brother. Kanye needs to move on from sped up samples from his Mom's dusties and Jamie needs to pick a good script. Period. It also hurts Jamie that he is capable of only one expression: that crazy open moufed look he has because his two front teef are capped like ice blocks. They're both boring and Kanye's 'Mission Impossible' track tanked. Once they get their awards from last year, it'll pass.

Name: bigchassie
Comment: THUNNY>Now if i remember this right, how Jamie got the part for Collateral was when he played in Ali, and they liked what they saw. whicb in turn how he got that part was when he played in Any Given Sunday. those earlier movies were i guess like stepping stones to get to the big rock. and yeah i agree, the early films of his were awful. there was this one move he was in with Nia Long called "Held Up" i can't stand that movie. it was so stupid! and his first movie was "Toys" with Robin Williams. Now i liked Bait. lots of action in it. wonder did he do all his stunts?

Name: bigchassie
Comment: KBIG>What? you telling me sumpthin new here! Kanye did a soundtrack to Mission Impossible?? ooh! i guess it did suck! that's too bad. but you hit it on the head about the both of them. i love the both of them as entertainers but you are right, they are smelling themselves right now. ain't nothing like a taste of humble pie, though.

Name: Thunny
Comment: Chassie, Held Up was an absolute waste of money. Jamie gets over on his physical comedy (i.e. shucking and jiving and fetching and stepping). To me, Collateral wasn't all that good or interesting. I'm still scratching my head at how he won an Oscar nomination for playing a timid cab-driving Negroe. But hey, I guess that's why I'm not a movie critic... How ironic that a comedian never had a funny movie...

Name: bigchassie
Comment: THUNNY>when Jamie did "Held Up" i think broman needed some money bad cause you right, that movie was horrible! when i first saw it i could not see all of it cause the more looked at it, the more %*$!ed i became. same goes for this movie called "Shade" i hated that movie too. I liked Collateral and Jamie's character was a good character. he played a timid underpaid cabdriver with big dreams of owning his own limo service. but he is getting nowhere fast in his life. he's been driving a cab for 12 years and he is not making any effort to make any changes to acheiving that goal so his life goes on as an everyday cabdriver in LA...until he meets Vincent who turns his life into a living hell which makes him realize sumpthing. are you gonna roll with what you have to deal with and let it take you over or are you gonna stand up like a man and take charge? and that was the basis of that movie. but it was a great movie.

Name: Thunny
Comment: I cna agree to disagree. I like Jamie and I'm happy for him and all his success, but he needs to realize that he didn't get where he is on his own. He had alot of help. I bet the Wayans Bros. can't stand him either! LOL

Name: bigchassie
Comment: KBIG>LOL! that was priceless! "i'm a horny geechie from texas and i have an Oscar and i will %*$!( you down!" lol!!! hilarious!!!

Name: ladybyrd
Comment: bigchassie > I agree with you!

Name: bigchassie
Comment: THUNNY> yep. true, i agree. do you think it's the media hype that makes them that way? i mean you can be blown up by the media so much that you do get the big head. i think it's how you play the hollywood game. you know, stay grounded and humble while you are in that celebrity mode at the same time.

Name: ladybyrd
Comment: The Wayans Brothers can't stand a lot of the alumni's from "In Living Color". When Jennifer's star had risen they were the ones who inappropriately dubbed her as "J-HO". Jealously is a %*$!( and can slow you down from your personal goals. Even though I can think the Wayan's have kept it moving, but I think they should be powerhouses. If you say Jennifer Lopez or J-LO, Jim Carey everybody and their mothers will know who they are.

Name: bigchassie
Comment: THUNNY>And yes you are definitly right. he did have a lot of help to get him where he is now. and i don't know how they are now, but i remember when he did an interivew with Kathy Hughes he said that his friends from childhood who are now his managers (Marcus King and Jamie Rucker King) kind of kept him centered. like if he got too crazy they pull him to the side and get real with him "hey bro, slow ya roll" now i don't know how it is now especially hearing all the interesting situations he was in (that london trist he had with that english Porn star) but that's how it was earlier in the years when he got nominated for Ray.

Name: bigchassie
Comment: LADYBYRD> yeah that is so true. Also, i think Jamie knows that soon, all of this is going to die down. all the hoopla, all the parties, all the running around, hopping from woman to woman, it's gonna end soon so he's sowing his oats and doing his thing now while he can. he is 38 years old in two years he will hit the stage of 40. then he is going to realize, it's gonna get stale. he may pull out another Oscar and by that time he will get better in his music then he will hear his grandma say to him, ok...enough is enough time to settle down and slow your roll. been there and done that. i think that is when Eric Bishop will emerge then.

Name: SweetieDarlin
Comment: Mission Impossible soundtrack tanked? Heck who even heard it aside from the song with Twista and Keysia Cole. The movie itself didn't seem to even have a discernable soundtrack. Anyway both of these guys need to chill, especially Jamie, he's older so he should try to lead by example and let it lay instead of fanning the flames.

Comment: Um, HELLO? Jamie's work with Tom Cruise in "Collateral" was an Oscar-worthy performance, so wake up eastsideAR. He also nailed Bundini in "Ali", and he brought "Any Given Sunday" to life. First of all, I don't think it's as bad as these tabloid reporters are making it out to be. These cats are celebrities, but they are still young men that work together and like to have fun. This sounds like a bunch of hype to me. And I don't know Kanye personally, but I do know Jamie and he is one of THE most DOWN-TO-EARTH, GROUNDED brothers on the planet. On top of that, he's hella funny and hella talented. Don't hate on him. And Thunny, it's HARD on a Black actor in Hollywatts. They have to take what they can get, even the formulaic scripts. They still come with a paycheck and screen time, something you need before you get those big-ticket gigs. Nobody wants to remember the crap Tom Hanks did before he started winning Oscars. Even Denzel had to work on formulaic crap before "Cry Freedom" shot him to stardom. Actually, I thought "Booty Call" was silly funny. He and Tommy Davidson had me dyin'! I'm willing to bet most of you guys would give your left nut to get a paying role in somebody's 'B' movie, especially if down the road you were practically guaranteed the chance to make millions, be a household name, and win awards. Finally, Victornator is a homophoic hater LMAO!

Name: KayKay
Comment: If this story is true, i'd like to believe Kanye was just kidding, and Jamie took it wrong. Otherwise, they both need to duck. Karma has a way of being the worst-tasting form of humble pie.

Comment: You know, you cannot believe every thing you read. Every one is trying to make a buck, off some body. They could, have been playing around, and then, some medial person heard what he,are she wanted to hear, and then, made it what it is today. Probably a lie any way. One thing I have noticed, when we black people, start making money, and never really had like that. Every body wants to bring you down in any way they can. This is why we must keep our eye on the sparrow. When, you do better, you know better. You even know who your true friends are. Hollywood, is only fun and games, as long, as your money is long. then, you are in the special club. But as soon as you slip away, for a while, no money, no songs, nothing to bring to the table. No body wants you when you are down and out. This where your relationship with real people (your family, those, who were there when, you had nothing). You need to stay grounded. And I noticed Jamie Foxx, acted like he hardly knew the "Wayans Brothers", when he was on BET AWARDS. He better remember, where came from"Living Color". If Jim Carey, can remember, I know Mr. Foxx, should never forget. Peace and Love
